Dead Estate Equipment Guide — Best Equipment Ranked

Complete Dead Estate equipment guide. Every equipment option ranked with stats, best builds, and how to get them.

Dead Estate is a roguelite twin-stick shooter set in a haunted mansion where you blast through rooms of monsters while collecting items that stack into absurd power combinations. Five playable characters each have unique starting weapons and abilities, and the game's item synergy system creates builds that range from 'reasonably powerful' to 'completely broken.' The mansion's floors escalate from manageable to frantic, with boss fights punctuating each section. Shop gambling adds risk/reward tension, and hidden unlock requirements keep you discovering new content for dozens of hours.

Your choice of equipment defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.

Equipment Progression Path

The order you should acquire equipment as you progress:

  1. Starting gear → Enough to clear Mansion First Floor
  2. Revolver → Your first real upgrade, available early
  3. Laser Gun → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
  4. Shotgun → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
  5. Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous

Equipment Tips

  • Always upgrade your primary equipment before diversifying — one strong option beats three mediocre ones.
  • Match your equipment to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
  • Jules' starting shotgun is one of the best weapons — don't drop it for a 'better' weapon unless you're sure. Fire rate items make it absurd.
  • Check our tier list for how equipment rankings affect overall build effectiveness.
