Koei Tecmo put the fourteenth entry on Steam on 15 January 2020 and added English language support on 28 February that year. The map covers 46 cities and roughly 340 regions of Han China, and territory is tracked by painting individual hexes in your faction colour, which is simultaneously how income, ownership and supply are calculated. More than 1,000 named officers carry over 150 different traits between them.

Resource management and crafting determine how quickly your power scales. This guide covers what to prioritize, where to farm, and how to avoid wasting resources on the wrong upgrades.

Crafting Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Spreading upgrades across multiple equipment: Focus one weapon to max before diversifying.
  2. Hoarding materials: Use them. The game provides enough if you farm efficiently.
  3. Upgrading the wrong gear: Check our builds guide before investing.
  4. Ignoring Chengdu farming: This area has the best resource-to-time ratio in mid-game.
  5. Crafting consumables too early: Save specialty materials for late-game recipes.

Resource Efficiency Tips

  • Check the coloured hex chain behind every army before you commit it. An army whose supply route runs through a single undefended corridor can be beaten by a smaller force that simply walks onto that corridor and waits.
  • Farm Chengdu during mid-game for the best return on time
  • Check the walkthrough to know when each resource becomes available
  • Match your farming route to your build. Some classes farm faster in certain areas
