Tekken 8 Weapons Guide — Best Weapons Ranked

Complete Tekken 8 weapons guide. Every weapon ranked with stats, best builds, and how to get them.

Tekken 8 is Bandai Namco's latest entry in the legendary 3D fighting game franchise, featuring the most aggressive Tekken game yet thanks to the new Heat system. The Heat mechanic gives every character a once-per-round power-up that enhances specific moves, adds chip damage on block, and enables powerful Heat Smash finishers. With 32+ characters at launch, a full story mode, and robust online with rollback netcode, it's the most feature-complete Tekken to date. The game rewards offensive play more than any previous entry while maintaining the series' deep movement and punishment fundamentals.

Your choice of weapons defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.

Weapons Progression Path

The order you should acquire weapons as you progress:

  1. Starting gear → Enough to clear Urban Square
  2. Chain grabs (King) → Your first real upgrade, available early
  3. Stance transitions (Hwoarang) → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
  4. Devil Gene (Jin/Kazuya) → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
  5. Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous

Weapons Tips

  • Always upgrade your primary weapon before diversifying — one strong option beats three mediocre ones.
  • Match your weapons to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
  • Learn your character's i10 jab punish, i12 punish, i13 punish, and i15 launcher — these four cover 90% of punishment situations
