The First Berserker: Khazan is Neople's souls-like, released on 27 March 2025 and set in the same Arad universe as Dungeon Fighter Online. Khazan is a decorated general of the Pell Los Empire who is framed for treason, crippled, and left to die in the snow until a spirit called the Blade Phantom keeps him alive. The campaign runs 16 main missions across four regions, from the Charnak Mountain Range through the Pell Los Plateau and the Heart of Pell Los to Vitalon, capital of the empire, with 24 bonus missions hanging off the same mission map. There are no character classes. You choose between Greatsword, Dual Wield and Spear, and you can respec every skill point at a Blade Nexus for free, as many times as you like.

Boss fights are where The First Berserker: Khazan tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Charnak Mountain Range Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Main missions 1 to 5 of 16 Recommended role: Dual Wield with Dual Wield blades

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. Holding guard blocks at a heavy stamina cost. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Brink Guard and Reflect to create safe windows.
  • Dual Wield blades is enough to handle everything here.

Pell Los Plateau Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Main missions 6 to 9 of 16 Recommended role: Dual Wield with Dual Wield blades

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Stamina and stance breaking. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

  • Stamina and stance breaking is critical for these fights.
  • Farm Dual Wield blades upgrades if you're struggling.
  • Consider switching to Dual Wield if your current setup isn't working.

Heart of Pell Los Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Main missions 10 to 13 of 16 Recommended role: Greatsword with Greatsword

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Brink Guard and Reflect and Spirit gauge skills mastery.
  • Greatsword makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Vitalon, Capital of the Empire Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Main missions 14 to 16 of 16 Recommended role: Greatsword with Greatsword

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • Greatsword at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Palemion Citadel Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: Reached during main mission 6, Traitor Revealed Recommended role: Greatsword with Greatsword

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your weapons: A max-upgraded Greatsword trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Brink Guard and Reflect: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
