Dying Light 2: Stay Human Crafting Guide — Resources, Recipes & Priorities

Dying Light 2: Stay Human crafting guide covering resource gathering, upgrade priorities, crafting recipes, and efficiency tips.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is Techland's open-world action RPG set 20 years after a zombie apocalypse in the sprawling city of Villedor. The parkour system lets you run, climb, and glide across rooftops with fluid first-person movement unmatched in the genre. Faction choices between Survivors and Peacekeepers permanently alter the city layout with new parkour tools or combat traps. Night gameplay transforms the experience — volatiles roam the streets while interiors become lootable dark zones. Four-player co-op lets friends join your story with all progress carrying back to their game.

Resource management and crafting determine how quickly your power scales. This guide covers what to prioritize, where to farm, and how to avoid wasting resources on the wrong upgrades.

Upgrade Path

Early Game (Old Villedor — Central Loop)

  1. Upgrade your starting equipment to functional level
  2. Craft basic defensive gear
  3. Save specialty materials — you'll need them later
  4. Focus on Korek Charm weapons once accessible

Mid Game (Elyseum)

  1. Push Korek Charm weapons to mid-level upgrades
  2. Start collecting materials for Artifact Machete
  3. Craft situational consumables for boss fights
  4. Upgrade build-specific gear pieces

Late Game (VNC Tower — Lawan's Hideout)

  1. Max out Artifact Machete — this is your top priority
  2. Complete your build's core gear set
  3. Craft endgame consumables
  4. Optional: upgrade secondary equipment for variety

Crafting Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Spreading upgrades across multiple equipment — Focus one weapon to max before diversifying.
  2. Hoarding materials — Use them. The game provides enough if you farm efficiently.
  3. Upgrading the wrong gear — Check our builds guide before investing.
  4. Ignoring Elyseum farming — This area has the best resource-to-time ratio in mid-game.
  5. Crafting consumables too early — Save specialty materials for late-game recipes.

Resource Efficiency Tips

  • Assign first 3 facilities to Peacekeepers for the PK Crossbow, then switch to Survivors for parkour infrastructure
  • Farm Elyseum during mid-game for the best return on time
  • Check the walkthrough to know when each resource becomes available
  • Match your farming route to your build — some classes farm faster in certain areas
