Enshrouded Crafting Guide — Resources, Recipes & Priorities

Enshrouded crafting guide covering resource gathering, upgrade priorities, crafting recipes, and efficiency tips.

Enshrouded is a survival action RPG set in a world partially consumed by a deadly fog called the Shroud. You explore, build bases, and fight enemies across five biomes with an emphasis on glider-based traversal across vast canyons and mountains. The Shroud creates a ticking-clock mechanic — you have limited time inside it before dying, incentivizing preparation and efficiency. The skill tree supports melee, ranged, and magic builds that can be freely respecced, encouraging experimentation. Up to 16 players can share a world, making it one of the most scalable co-op survival games.

Resource management and crafting determine how quickly your power scales. This guide covers what to prioritize, where to farm, and how to avoid wasting resources on the wrong upgrades.

Upgrade Path

Early Game (Springlands — Revelwood)

  1. Upgrade your starting equipment to functional level
  2. Craft basic defensive gear
  3. Save specialty materials — you'll need them later
  4. Focus on Radiant Staff once accessible

Mid Game (Nomad Highlands)

  1. Push Radiant Staff to mid-level upgrades
  2. Start collecting materials for Fell Thunderbrute Sword
  3. Craft situational consumables for boss fights
  4. Upgrade build-specific gear pieces

Late Game (Kindlewastes — Ember Cradle)

  1. Max out Fell Thunderbrute Sword — this is your top priority
  2. Complete your build's core gear set
  3. Craft endgame consumables
  4. Optional: upgrade secondary equipment for variety

Crafting Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Spreading upgrades across multiple equipment — Focus one weapon to max before diversifying.
  2. Hoarding materials — Use them. The game provides enough if you farm efficiently.
  3. Upgrading the wrong gear — Check our builds guide before investing.
  4. Ignoring Nomad Highlands farming — This area has the best resource-to-time ratio in mid-game.
  5. Crafting consumables too early — Save specialty materials for late-game recipes.

Resource Efficiency Tips

  • Upgrade the Flame Altar as your highest priority — each upgrade extends Shroud timer, unlocks crafting, and expands base territory. Gather altar materials before anything else.
  • Farm Nomad Highlands during mid-game for the best return on time
  • Check the walkthrough to know when each resource becomes available
  • Match your farming route to your build — some classes farm faster in certain areas
