Hello Kitty Island Adventure is Sunblink's open world cosy game, which arrived on Steam on 30 January 2025 after starting life on Apple Arcade. You crash land on Friendship Island, meet more than forty Sanrio characters, and restore the place by cooking, crafting, gardening, fishing, catching critters and solving puzzle ruins. The hook that separates it from other cosy games is the companion system: raising friendship with a character unlocks a power that follows you around, so Chococat gives a thirty per cent chance of extra crafts at any bench and Badtz-maru makes fishing land more often. Regions gate behind traversal tools rather than levels, so Flippers unlock swimming, the Snorkel unlocks diving and Balloons let you glide down from height. Sunblink advertises more than eighty hours of quests across eight regions, and the completionist tail runs well past that.
Picking the right build determines how your experience plays out. These builds are ranked by overall effectiveness, factoring in damage, survivability, gear requirements, and how well they scale into endgame. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Gearing Tips
- Invest in your primary equipment first, since it gives the biggest power spike. See our weapons guide for rankings.
- Match your companion to the bench. Hello Kitty duplicates cooked items and Chococat duplicates crafted ones, and swapping between them before a batch session is the single biggest material saving in the game.
- Hello Kitty's Sous Chef starts at friendship level two but only hits a fifty per cent duplication chance at level five. Push her to five before you start bulk cooking gifts.
- Don't spread upgrade resources across multiple builds until endgame
