Lost Ark Walkthrough — Start to Endgame

Lost Ark is Smilegate RPG's free-to-play action ARPG/MMO hybrid with isometric combat, a massive roster of classes, and endgame Legion Raids that require precise team coordination. Quick Progression Summary

Phase 1: Getting Started — Vern

The first major endgame hub where Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids unlock at level 50. The Vern castle serves as the main story hub for Tier 1 content. Most daily activities are accessed from Vern initially.

What to Do in Vern

1. Learn tripod system. Each skill has 3 tiers of Tripod modifications that alter the skill's behavior — adding damage, changing element, or adding utility effects. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
2. Pick Sorceress as your starting build. It's the most forgiving option.
3. Complete island quests for honing materials — Una's Tasks (dailies/weeklies) and island rewards provide massive amounts of upgrade materials. Islands are more efficient than chaos dungeons early on.
4. Acquire your first equipment upgrade — Grudge Engraving or whatever's available.
5. Clear all main content before moving on.

Phase 1 Checklist

Phase 2: Early Game — Rohendel

The first continent requiring item level 460. Contains new chaos dungeons and story content. The Knowledge Transfer system allows skipping Rohendel on alt characters for gold.

What to Do in Rohendel

1. Work on engravings. Engravings are passive bonuses that define your build identity. This system becomes critical from here on.
2. Farm for Grudge Engraving if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
3. Aim for 3x3 engravings (3 engravings at Level 3) before attempting Argos raid. 4x3 for Valtan. 5x3 for Clown and beyond. Running suboptimal engravings gets you rejected from party finder.
4. Complete all objectives before pushing to Yorn.
5. Consider whether Berserker might suit your playstyle better than Sorceress.

Phase 3: Mid Game — Yorn

What to Do in Yorn

1. Master island content. Hundreds of islands dot the ocean, each with quests, collectibles, and unique rewards. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
2. Start working toward Relic Accessories. It's the best equipment and becomes accessible around now.
3. Use Knowledge Transfer for alt character leveling — spend gold at the stronghold to skip story content. Only play the story once, then transfer alts.
4. This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
5. Start investing in legion raids for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.

Phase 4: Late Game — Punika

The Tier 3 transition continent at item level 1100. Punika unlocks endgame systems: Legion Raids, Relic gear, and the main endgame loop. Most of Lost Ark's content exists at this tier.

What to Do in Punika

1. Finalize your build. You should be running Berserker or Sorceress with optimized gear.

3. Sell unbound materials on the auction house early when prices are high. Buy them back later when prices drop. Gold management is a real skill in Lost Ark.
4. honing system optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
5. Farm this area for the resources needed to push into Elgacia.

Phase 5: Endgame — Elgacia

An endgame continent with item level 1490+ content. Contains unique storyline, Kayangel Abyssal Dungeon, and progression materials. One of the latest content additions.

What to Do in Elgacia

1. Elgacia tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
2. Daily Chaos Dungeons (2 runs) are your main progression source for honing materials. Never skip daily chaos runs on your main character.
3. The endgame loop: run Elgacia, optimize gear, push harder content.
4. Experiment with Deathblade for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
5. This is where honing system mastery separates good players from great ones.

Common Progression Mistakes

• Running Grudge at Level 1 or 2 — you take +20% damage without enough damage bonus. Only equip Grudge when you can guarantee Level 3 (15 nodes).
• Ignoring island content — islands provide skill point potions, stat potions, cards, and massive amounts of honing materials. Complete island quests alongside main progression.
• Honing past the recommended breakpoint without researching — Stronghold research reduces honing costs and increases success rates. Always check if research is available before pushing.
• Spending all gold on honing — gold is needed for accessories, gems, and engravings. Balance honing investment with gear quality improvements.
• Not using party finder for raids — matchmaking puts you with random players of varying quality. Party Finder lets you join organized groups with proper compositions.
