Passtech Games and Nacon released Ravenswatch on 26 September 2024 after roughly eighteen months in Early Access. Nine heroes taken from folklore, among them Little Red Riding Hood as Scarlet and the fallen monkey king Sun Wukong, fight the Nightmare across three procedurally arranged chapters. Each chapter gives you three days and three nights to grow stronger before its Master Nightmare arrives.
Boss fights are where Ravenswatch tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

| Storm Island | Hard | Scarlet | Grandmother's Souvenir |
| Avalon | Very Hard | Scarlet | Grandmother's Souvenir |
| The Epilog | Extreme | Scarlet | Grandmother's Souvenir |
The Dark Hills Bosses
Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Chapter 1, three days and three nights Recommended build: Beowulf with Raging Chain
Strategy
The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. A visible clock runs through three full day and night cycles, and everything you do in that window decides how strong you enter the boss fight. This is your primary tool here.
Key tips:
- Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
- Use Three days and three nights per chapter to create safe windows.
- Raging Chain is enough to handle everything here.
Hogsden Bosses
Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Chapter 1, day one Recommended build: Beowulf with Raging Chain
Strategy
Early game bosses test your understanding of Talent picks on every level up. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.
Key tips:
- Talent picks on every level up is critical for these fights.
- Farm Raging Chain upgrades if you're struggling.
- Consider switching to Beowulf if your current setup isn't working.
Storm Island Bosses
Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Chapter 2, three days and three nights Recommended build: Scarlet with Grandmother's Souvenir
Strategy
Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.
Key tips:
- You need both Three days and three nights per chapter and Day and night hero forms mastery.
- Grandmother's Souvenir makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
- See our combat guide for advanced techniques.
Avalon Bosses
Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Chapter 3, three days and three nights Recommended build: Scarlet with Grandmother's Souvenir
Strategy
Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.
Key tips:
- Make sure your build is fully optimized.
- Grandmother's Souvenir at max upgrade is recommended.
- Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.
The Epilog Bosses
Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: Post campaign, higher difficulties only Recommended build: Scarlet with Grandmother's Souvenir
Strategy
Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.
Key tips:
- Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
- Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
- These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.
General Boss Tips
- Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
- Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
- Upgrade your equipment: A max-upgraded Grandmother's Souvenir trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
- Use Three days and three nights per chapter: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
- Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
