Ready or Not Crafting Guide — Resources, Recipes & Priorities

Ready or Not crafting guide covering resource gathering, upgrade priorities, crafting recipes, and efficiency tips.

Ready or Not is a tactical SWAT simulator where you command a police team clearing dangerous locations. Unlike arcade shooters, RoN punishes shooting first — you lose points for unauthorized use of force. Suspects must be given a chance to surrender before engagement. The missions range from drug lab raids to active shooter responses, each requiring different loadouts and tactics. The AI (both enemies and teammates) behaves unpredictably, creating tense room-clearing sequences where a suspect might surrender or open fire. The 1.0 release added a full campaign connecting missions narratively.

Resource management and crafting determine how quickly your power scales. This guide covers what to prioritize, where to farm, and how to avoid wasting resources on the wrong upgrades.

Upgrade Path

Early Game (Gas Station — Hotel)

  1. Upgrade your starting weapons to functional level
  2. Craft basic defensive gear
  3. Save specialty materials — you'll need them later
  4. Focus on MP5 once accessible

Mid Game (Meth House)

  1. Push MP5 to mid-level upgrades
  2. Start collecting materials for G36C
  3. Craft situational consumables for boss fights
  4. Upgrade build-specific gear pieces

Late Game (Hospital — Port)

  1. Max out G36C — this is your top priority
  2. Complete your build's core gear set
  3. Craft endgame consumables
  4. Optional: upgrade secondary weapons for variety

Crafting Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Spreading upgrades across multiple weapons — Focus one weapon to max before diversifying.
  2. Hoarding materials — Use them. The game provides enough if you farm efficiently.
  3. Upgrading the wrong gear — Check our builds guide before investing.
  4. Ignoring Meth House farming — This area has the best resource-to-time ratio in mid-game.
  5. Crafting consumables too early — Save specialty materials for late-game recipes.

Resource Efficiency Tips

  • Mirror under every closed door before entering. The optical wand or mirror gun shows room layout, suspect positions, and civilian locations — knowledge that prevents friendly casualties.
  • Farm Meth House during mid-game for the best return on time
  • Check the walkthrough to know when each resource becomes available
  • Match your farming route to your build — some classes farm faster in certain areas
