Remnant 2 is Gunfire Games' third-person soulslike shooter where procedural generation means every campaign playthrough features different dungeons, bosses, and loot. The archetype system lets you dual-class two of 12+ archetypes for deep build variety, while three-player co-op scales enemy health dynamically. Each of the game's worlds — Losomn, N'Erud, and Yaesha — has multiple possible storylines, bosses, and dungeon layouts per reroll. The gunplay is tight and responsive, with mod-powered weapon abilities adding an ability-shooter layer on top of the Souls formula.
This walkthrough takes you from your first session to endgame content. Each phase has specific goals, priorities, and milestones. Follow this path to avoid common traps that stall most players.

Phase 1: Getting Started — Losomn
A dual-themed world split between a Victorian-gothic Dran city and a fae-realm palace. Different rerolls can feature the Nightweaver spider boss, the Faelin/Faerin twin choice, or other variants. The Asylum and Morrow Parish are recurring dungeons with unique puzzles.
Level/Difficulty: Power Level 1-10 Key Rewards: Nightfall, Familiar trait, Faelin/Faerin weapons
What to Do in Losomn
- Learn procedural world generation. Each campaign run and Adventure Mode reroll generates different dungeon layouts, side dungeons, events, and even main bosses for each world. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
- Pick Gunslinger as your starting role. It's the most forgiving option.
- Use Adventure Mode to reroll individual worlds without resetting your entire campaign progress
- Acquire your first weapons upgrade — Merciless or whatever's available.
- Clear all main content before moving on.
Phase 1 Checklist
- Understand procedural world generation fundamentals
- Gunslinger selected and functional
- Losomn main content cleared
- Ready for N'Erud
Phase 2: Early Game — N'Erud
An alien sci-fi world with a dying civilization and cosmic horror themes. Features either Sha'Hala the Spectral Guardian or the Custodian's Eye as world boss. The Tower of the Unseen and Astropath's Respite contain critical items.
Level/Difficulty: Power Level 1-10 Key Rewards: Void Heart relic, Sagittarius bow, space-themed armor sets
What to Do in N'Erud
- Work on archetype system. You select a primary and secondary archetype from options like Handler, Gunslinger, Medic, Challenger, Summoner, and secret archetypes like Archon. This system becomes critical from here on.
- Farm for Merciless if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
- The Nightfall + Dreadwalker mod combo deals the highest DPS in the game during its 10-second window — pair with damage buffs for boss melting
- Complete all objectives before pushing to Yaesha.
- Consider whether Handler might suit your playstyle better than Gunslinger.
Phase 2 Checklist
- archetype system integrated into gameplay
- Merciless acquired
- N'Erud fully cleared
- Ready for Yaesha
Phase 3: Mid Game — Yaesha
A lush jungle world inspired by Pan mythology with corrupted Root growths. The Ravager and the Corruptor are possible world bosses. Contains some of the best amulets and rings in the game in its side dungeons.
Level/Difficulty: Power Level 1-10 Key Rewards: Red Doe Staff, Leto Mark II armor (secret room), Ravager choices
What to Do in Yaesha
- Master mod power system. Weapon mods are special abilities attached to guns that charge by dealing damage. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
- Start working toward Nightfall. It's the best weapon and becomes accessible around now.
- Bloodstream trait (from Corrupted Harbinger) gives lifesteal that stacks with other healing sources
- This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
- Start investing in trait system for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.
Phase 3 Checklist
- mod power system mastered
- Nightfall acquired or in progress
- Yaesha fully cleared
- Ready for Labyrinth
Phase 4: Late Game — Labyrinth
A surreal between-worlds dimension that serves as a hub connecting all worlds. The Labyrinth Sentinel boss guards the path forward. Contains hidden portals accessed by walking off specific edges of floating platforms.
Level/Difficulty: Power Level 10-15 Key Rewards: Labyrinth armor set, Bastion trait, Archon archetype clue
What to Do in Labyrinth
- Finalize your build. You should be running Handler or Gunslinger with optimized gear.
- Nightfall should be your primary. If you don't have it yet, prioritize getting it.
- Rings and amulets matter more than armor — a Ring of Crisis at low health plus Gunslinger's fire rate equals absurd DPS
- co-op scaling optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
- Farm this area for the resources needed to push into Root Earth.
Phase 4 Checklist
- Build fully optimized
- Nightfall upgraded to max
- Labyrinth fully cleared
- Ready for Root Earth
Phase 5: Endgame — Root Earth
The final area of the campaign set in a Root-consumed Earth. Features two back-to-back boss fights ending with Annihilation. Linear rather than procedural, with fixed encounters and no reroll variation.
Level/Difficulty: Power Level 15-20 Key Rewards: Campaign completion, Annihilation materials, Corrupted Savior weapon
What to Do in Root Earth
- Root Earth tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
- Shoot the bells in Losomn's Morrow Parish church in a specific order to unlock a hidden dungeon with the Nightweaver's Web
- The endgame loop: run Root Earth, optimize gear, push harder content.
- Experiment with Summoner for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
- This is where co-op scaling mastery separates good players from great ones.
Phase 5 Checklist
- Endgame content on farm
- Best-in-slot gear acquired
- Root Earth fully cleared
- Ready for challenge content
Common Progression Mistakes
- Not rerolling worlds — many players complete one campaign and miss 60% of bosses, dungeons, and items
- Ignoring mod power generation — mods are your strongest abilities and building around them defines endgame
- Spreading trait points too thin instead of maxing Vigor first for survival on harder difficulties
- Selling boss materials before checking all crafting options — some materials make both a weapon and a mod
- Playing only solo when many archetype combos shine specifically in co-op (Medic/Handler support is transformative)
Key Tips for Smooth Progression
- Use Adventure Mode to reroll individual worlds without resetting your entire campaign progress
- The Nightfall + Dreadwalker mod combo deals the highest DPS in the game during its 10-second window — pair with damage buffs for boss melting
- Bloodstream trait (from Corrupted Harbinger) gives lifesteal that stacks with other healing sources
- Rings and amulets matter more than armor — a Ring of Crisis at low health plus Gunslinger's fire rate equals absurd DPS
- Shoot the bells in Losomn's Morrow Parish church in a specific order to unlock a hidden dungeon with the Nightweaver's Web
