TAIKU MANSION is a point and click horror puzzle game from KITATUS STUDIOS, published by My Way Games and on Steam since 13 February 2017. A voicemail from a friend who died five years earlier sends you to the mansion, the front door jams shut behind you, and a voice demands your death unless you get out by dawn. It is short, strictly linear, and sits near 60 percent positive across fewer than 100 Steam reviews.

TAIKU MANSION features distinct areas with increasing difficulty. This guide covers every major location in progression order: what to do, what to get, and when to move on. For the step-by-step path, see our walkthrough.

Opening room with the fireplace: Starting Area

Where the front door jams behind you. The Activator is tucked near the chimney and the room exists mainly to teach you that objects hide in scenery rather than in highlighted hotspots.

What to Do Here

The piano room: Early Game

One instrument, three usable keys and no written clue. The sequence left, middle, right, middle, left, middle, right is the whole puzzle, and community guides are the only reliable source for it.

What to Do Here

  • Focus on mastering Self contained puzzle rooms. It's critical from this point on.
  • Farm for The piano if you don't have it yet.
  • Complete all objectives for maximum rewards.
  • Prepare for the difficulty spike in The keypad room.

The keypad room: Mid Game

A code panel driven by plus sign buttons that step each digit upward. Set 537 and it opens. Players who try to reverse engineer the number from the room usually give up first.

The lights out room: Late Game

A nine square toggle panel. There is also a separate grid movement puzzle in the run, solved with the input order down, right, up, left, down, left, up, right, which players routinely confuse with this one.

What to Do Here

  • Full build optimization is expected by this point.
  • The Activator should be your primary, fully upgraded.
  • Escape before dawn framing mastery starts mattering here.
  • Farm resources for the push into The spike maze.

The spike maze: Endgame

A hazard corridor with spikes on the wrong routes. It is short, it is the one place you can actually die, and it exists mainly to change the pacing before the final stretch.

What to Do Here

  • This is endgame. Best-in-slot gear and a perfected build are mandatory.
  • See our boss guide for endgame fight strategies.
  • The reward loop: clear content → upgrade → push harder content.
  • Experiment with Achievement hunter for variety once you've mastered the meta.

Exploration Tips

  1. Clear areas in order: Opening room with the fireplace → The piano room → The keypad room → The lights out room → The spike maze. Skipping areas means missing resources you'll need later.
  2. Check every corner: Hidden caches and secrets are often in non-obvious locations.
  3. Match your equipment: Some areas favor different equipment types.
  4. Read the walkthrough: Our walkthrough provides exact progression milestones for each area.
  5. Don't rush: Clearing an area fully gives more resources than speedrunning two areas.
