Righteous Path and Tyrant Path routes + Water and satiety meters: The map splits into two philosophies, the righteous Xia Dao route and the domineering Ba Dao route, and they lead to different areas and different sorts of trouble. When paired with Water and satiety meters, characters track water and satiety, and both have caps that you can raise through progression.
Meridians, talents and traits scaling: Character power comes from three overlapping systems: meridian unlocks, talent affix choices and character traits, with a separate track for traits unlocked after creation.
