Vampire Survivors Equipment Guide — Best Equipment Ranked

Complete Vampire Survivors equipment guide. Every equipment option ranked with stats, best builds, and how to get them.

Vampire Survivors is a minimalist roguelike where you pick a character, choose weapons from level-up pools, and survive 30-minute waves of increasingly absurd enemy hordes. You don't aim or dodge — movement is your only direct input. Weapons fire automatically, and the strategy comes entirely from build decisions: which weapons to take, which passives to pair for evolutions, and when to grab experience gems. The game costs $5 and provides 100+ hours of content across 40+ characters, dozens of weapons with evolution paths, multiple stages, and an absurdly deep secret/unlock system. It spawned an entire genre of 'survivors-like' games.

Your choice of equipment defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.

Equipment Progression Path

The order you should acquire equipment as you progress:

  1. Starting gear → Enough to clear Mad Forest
  2. Knife → Thousand Edge → Your first real upgrade, available early
  3. King Bible → Unholy Vespers → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
  4. Whip → Bloody Tear → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
  5. Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous

Equipment Tips

  • Always upgrade your primary equipment before diversifying — one strong option beats three mediocre ones.
  • Match your equipment to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
  • Weapon evolution requires: weapon at level 8 + matching passive item equipped + open a chest (from elite enemies at minute 10/20/30). Memorize the evolution pairs.
  • Check our tier list for how equipment rankings affect overall build effectiveness.
