This Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links tier list ranks every major option by overall effectiveness. Rankings factor in damage output, survivability, versatility, gear requirements, and how well each option scales.
Tier definitions: S = best in class, always a strong pick. A = strong and competitive, minor weaknesses. B = solid but clearly outperformed in most situations. C = viable only for players who enjoy the playstyle.
Builds Rankings
| Tier | Build | Rating | Playstyle |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Branded | 9.5/10 | Combo. Resolve Branded Fusion, put a boss monster on the board, then grind with the graveyard effects the fusion left behind. |
| A | Snake-Eye | 8.5/10 | Engine deck. It shares space well with other FIRE and Fiend packages, so what you pair it with matters as much as the core itself. |
| A | Labrynth | 8.5/10 | Control. Three Spell and Trap Zones hurt a trap deck more than any other archetype here, so run fewer and better traps than a paper list would. |
| B | Infernity | 7.5/10 | Combo. Dump the hand deliberately, chain the Infernity effects, and close with Synchro monsters. It punishes careless sequencing harder than anything else on this list. |
| B | Destiny HERO | 7.5/10 | Midrange. Trade resources early, then grind with the graveyard against an opponent who emptied their hand on turn one. |
Detailed Builds Analysis
Branded (S-Tier)
Tier 1 in the 10 August 2026 meta snapshot. Branded Fusion pulls Fallen of Albaz and a Dragon out of the deck to fuse them, converting one card into a boss monster plus a graveyard full of follow up.
Best with: Branded Fusion, Fallen of Albaz, a compact Despia package, and most Extra Deck slots spent on the fusion line. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Extra Deck slots first, then hand traps, then backrow removal
Snake-Eye (A-Tier)
Tier 2 in the August 2026 snapshot. Snake-Eye Ash searches its own archetype and can place a face-up monster into a Spell and Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell, which in a three zone format is a genuine cost rather than a freebie.
Best with: Snake-Eye Ash, the FIRE monsters worth placing, and the archetype's Continuous Spell recursion. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Access to Snake-Eye Ash first, then FIRE targets, then Extra Deck slots
Labrynth (A-Tier)
Flagged as high potential in the August 2026 snapshot. It is a Fiend control deck built on Normal Traps, with Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle triggering off trap activation and the Labrynth Labyrinth field spell adding removal on top.
Best with: Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle, Welcome Labrynth, Labrynth Labyrinth, a spread of generic Normal Traps. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Trap quality first, then the three Spell and Trap Zones, then Extra Deck slots
Infernity (B-Tier)
Tier 3 in the August 2026 snapshot and the deck that wants an empty hand. Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Necromancer only turn on with zero cards in hand, and Infernity Launcher converts the graveyard into a board. Kalin Kessler is the 5D's character attached to it.
Best with: Infernity Archfiend, Infernity Necromancer, Infernity Launcher, and enough discard outlets to empty the hand on demand. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Hand emptying first, then Extra Deck Synchro targets, then trap protection
Destiny HERO (B-Tier)
Tier 3 in the August 2026 snapshot and one of the longest running archetypes in the game, tied to Aster Phoenix in the GX world. Destiny HERO - Malicious banishes itself from the graveyard to summon another copy from the deck, which is a free body every turn it is available.
Best with: Destiny HERO - Malicious, Destiny HERO - Celestial for card advantage, and the archetype's Fusion boss in the Extra Deck. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Graveyard setup first, then Extra Deck slots, then removal
Equipment Rankings
| Equipment | Best With | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Branded Fusion | Branded and Despia builds. It is the single reason the archetype functions at all. | A Spell that Fusion Summons using materials from the hand, field or deck, with Fallen of Albaz or a Dragon among them. |
| Fallen of Albaz | Any Branded build, and as a lone splash in decks that simply want a fusion body. | The Dragon most Branded fusions name as a material, and it also fuses itself with a monster your opponent controls. |
| Snake-Eye Ash | Snake-Eye decks and FIRE packages that want a one card starter. | A Level 1 FIRE monster that searches its archetype on summon and can place a face-up monster into a Spell and Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell. |
| Sphere Kuriboh | Almost any deck. It is the format's default answer to a single oversized attacker. | A long standing Duel Links defensive card, discarded from the hand to change an attacking monster to defence position. |
| Cosmic Cyclone | Decks that lose to a single continuous Spell or Trap, played in ones and twos rather than at three copies. | A Quick-Play Spell that pays 1000 Life Points to banish one Spell or Trap on the field. |

Equipment Analysis
Branded Fusion: A Spell that Fusion Summons using materials from the hand, field or deck, with Fallen of Albaz or a Dragon among them. One card becomes a boss monster plus two cards in the graveyard, which is why the archetype sits at Tier 1.
Fallen of Albaz: The Dragon most Branded fusions name as a material, and it also fuses itself with a monster your opponent controls. It is the card the whole Branded package is built around.
Snake-Eye Ash: A Level 1 FIRE monster that searches its archetype on summon and can place a face-up monster into a Spell and Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell. With only three of those zones, deciding what to place is part of the play.
Sphere Kuriboh: A long standing Duel Links defensive card, discarded from the hand to change an attacking monster to defence position. Against 4000 Life Points, one stopped attack is frequently the whole duel.
Cosmic Cyclone: A Quick-Play Spell that pays 1000 Life Points to banish one Spell or Trap on the field. Banishing beats destruction against graveyard decks, and 1000 out of 4000 is a quarter of your total.
Meta Analysis
The current meta in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links centers on Speed Duel format and Character Skills. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.
What's strong right now:
- Branded with Branded Fusion is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
- Duel Worlds and Legendary Duelist gates builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
- Labrynth remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.
What's underrated:
- Snake-Eye is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
- Snake-Eye Ash offers excellent performance for its investment level.
What's overhyped:
- Pure Destiny HERO builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
Quick Picks by Situation
| Situation | Best Build | Best Gear | Why |
