CarX Technologies built this drift physics model with the CarX Motorsport racing team and put it on Steam on 17 November 2017. Over 120 cars, 19 built-in tracks and five categories of modification with more than 50 adjustable settings sit behind a tandem scoring system called XDS that grades runs out of 100 points. Nine years on it still holds a 95 percent positive rating across more than 40,000 English reviews.
CarX Drift Racing Online features distinct areas with increasing difficulty. This guide covers every major location in progression order: what to do, what to get, and when to move on. For the step-by-step path, see our walkthrough.
Area Progression Order
| Order | Location | Difficulty | Key Rewards | Recommended Build |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Springstone | Suitable from the first hour | Fast money and XP runs, reliable tune testing, low risk of ending a run against a wall | Tandem lead |
| 2 | Kami Road | Recommended after basic transitions are reliable | Momentum and line practice, long linked corners, the best showcase for a low-power car | Tandem lead |
| 3 | Saihem Forest | Suitable from the first hour | Balanced corner variety for tune validation, decent payouts, easy tandem practice lines | Solo drift scoring |
| 4 | East Touge | Intermediate and up | Long-corner scoring practice, Ackermann tuning feedback, high-speed confidence | Solo drift scoring |
| 5 | Navaro Base A | Intermediate and up | High money per minute, tight transitions, close-quarters chase practice | Solo drift scoring |
Springstone: Starting Area
The community's default testing ground and the track almost everyone uses to farm experience and money. Wide, forgiving corners make it easy to compare two tunes back to back without the track itself getting in the way.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Suitable from the first hour |
| Key Rewards | Fast money and XP runs, reliable tune testing, low risk of ending a run against a wall |
| Recommended Build | Tandem lead |
| Key Equipment | Falcon RZ |
What to Do Here
- Learn the basics of XDS tandem scoring out of 100. This is where you practice without heavy punishment.
- Collect starting resources and your first equipment upgrade.
- Clear all main content before moving to Kami Road.
- If you're struggling, read our beginner's guide.
Kami Road: Early Game
A mountain downhill run that has been in the series long enough to be a fixture across CarX titles. Long corners, elevation changes and unforgiving edges make it a momentum track rather than a power track.

|---|---|
| Difficulty | Recommended after basic transitions are reliable |
| Key Rewards | Momentum and line practice, long linked corners, the best showcase for a low-power car |
| Recommended Build | Tandem lead |
| Key Equipment | Falcon RZ |
What to Do Here
- Focus on mastering Five modification categories. It's critical from this point on.
- Farm for Falcon RZ if you don't have it yet.
- Complete all objectives for maximum rewards.
- Prepare for the difficulty spike in Saihem Forest.
Saihem Forest: Mid Game
A tree-lined circuit used alongside Springstone for vehicle testing. The corner mix is varied enough that a tune which works here usually works anywhere, which is why it appears in so many setup guides.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Suitable from the first hour |
| Key Rewards | Balanced corner variety for tune validation, decent payouts, easy tandem practice lines |
| Recommended Build | Solo drift scoring |
| Key Equipment | Falcon RZ |
What to Do Here
- This is the main skill check. Bring an optimized build.
- Spector RS becomes accessible here. Prioritize getting it.
- Master Suspension and steering geometry for the boss encounters.
- Check our boss guide if you get stuck.
East Touge: Late Game
A mountain road defined by very long corners, which is exactly where added Ackermann earns its place. Setups that spin out here are usually carrying too much of it rather than too little angle.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Intermediate and up |
| Key Rewards | Long-corner scoring practice, Ackermann tuning feedback, high-speed confidence |
| Recommended Build | Solo drift scoring |
| Key Equipment | Spector RS |
What to Do Here
- Full build optimization is expected by this point.
- Spector RS should be your primary, fully upgraded.
- Steam Workshop maps and liveries mastery starts mattering here.
- Farm resources for the push into Navaro Base A.
Navaro Base A: Endgame
An industrial layout that community guides single out for fast payouts, with runs that finish in under two minutes. Tight technical sections make it a better proximity test than Springstone for tandem work.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Intermediate and up |
| Key Rewards | High money per minute, tight transitions, close-quarters chase practice |
| Recommended Build | Solo drift scoring |
| Key Equipment | Spector RS |
What to Do Here
- This is endgame. Best-in-slot gear and a perfected build are mandatory.
- See our boss guide for endgame fight strategies.
- The reward loop: clear content → upgrade → push harder content.
- Experiment with Time Attack for variety once you've mastered the meta.
Exploration Tips
- Clear areas in order: Springstone → Kami Road → Saihem Forest → East Touge → Navaro Base A. Skipping areas means missing resources you'll need later.
- Check every corner: Hidden caches and secrets are often in non-obvious locations.
- Match your equipment: Some areas favor different equipment types.
- Read the walkthrough: Our walkthrough provides exact progression milestones for each area.
- Don't rush: Clearing an area fully gives more resources than speedrunning two areas.
