Lava's Legends of IdleOn keeps up to ten characters on one account and farms with every one of them at the same time, online or offline. Seven worlds run from Blunder Hills through Yum-Yum Desert, Frostbite Tundra, Hyperion Nebula, Smolderin' Plateau and Spirited Valley to Shimmerfin Deep, each gated behind a world boss. Nearly everything you earn is account wide, so the character you never log into still pays into the whole roster.
Starting Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO can feel overwhelming. This guide tells you exactly what to focus on during your first hours so you don't waste time on things that don't matter yet. For the full progression path, see our walkthrough.
What Kind of Game Is This?
Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO is a mmo game built around Ten character roster and AFK gains and Time Candy. The core loop involves mastering these systems to progress through increasingly challenging content.
What to expect: Time investment in learning mechanics, experimentation, and gradual mastery. The game rewards patience and knowledge.
Choosing Your First Build
| Build | Beginner Rating | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Blood Berserker | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Divine Knight | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Siege Breaker | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Beast Master | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Elemental Sorcerer | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
Our recommendation: Start with Divine Knight. It offers the most forgiving experience while teaching core mechanics.
Avoid Elemental Sorcerer as your first pick. It requires deep knowledge of game systems to use effectively. Once you're ready, check our classes guide for all options.
First Session Step-by-Step
Step 1: Learn Ten character roster
The account holds up to ten characters and all of them keep farming while the game is closed. Most accounts run a few combat characters and several dedicated skillers rather than ten copies of the same build.
This is the foundation. Spend your first 15-30 minutes getting comfortable with how Ten character roster works before worrying about anything else. Our combat guide breaks this down further.
Step 2: Head to Blunder Hills
World 1, the starting area, home to the anvil, the forge, the first mining and chopping nodes and the telescope that grants star signs. Amarok guards the exit.
Clear the main content here before moving on. Everything teaches fundamentals you'll need later. See our maps guide for all locations.
Step 3: Get Your First Upgrade
Look for Efaunt set: it's the most accessible early upgrade. Crafted from the World 2 boss Efaunt, and a large enough upgrade that most players farm the fight several times to kit out multiple characters.
Step 4: Understand AFK gains and Time Candy
Offline time converts into class XP, skill XP and drops that you claim on login. Time Candy fast forwards your AFK timer in fixed hour chunks, which is why players hoard it for pushes right after an update.
This is the system most new players overlook. Invest time here early. It pays off throughout the entire game.
Step 5: Push to Yum-Yum Desert
World 2, which unlocks Alchemy and the Post Office, two systems that pay into every character on the account. Efaunt's tomb sits at the far end and the sand mobs are the first real damage check.
Essential Mechanics Explained
Ten character roster
The account holds up to ten characters and all of them keep farming while the game is closed. Most accounts run a few combat characters and several dedicated skillers rather than ten copies of the same build.
AFK gains and Time Candy
Offline time converts into class XP, skill XP and drops that you claim on login. Time Candy fast forwards your AFK timer in fixed hour chunks, which is why players hoard it for pushes right after an update.
Class advancement tree
You start as a Beginner, pick Warrior, Archer or Mage at level 10, split again in World 2 and take an Elite class in World 4. Each Elite owns one skill, so Divine Knight decides your Gaming and Siege Breaker decides your Sailing.
Alchemy cauldrons
World 2 opens four cauldrons named Power, Quicc, High-IQ and Kazam that brew bubbles giving permanent account bonuses. Vials, sigils and the p2w tab hang off the same screen and stay relevant all the way to World 7.
Cards and star signs
Every monster drops a card that grants a passive bonus once slotted into an eight card loadout, and star signs from the World 1 telescope stack on top. The card pool is shared across the account, so farming on one character eventually equips all of them.
Common Beginner Mistakes
1. Making ten combat characters and no dedicated skillers
This is a common trap that costs new players significant time.
2. Ignoring alchemy bubbles until World 4
This is a common trap that costs new players significant time.
3. Spreading farming across maps instead of building multikill
This is a common trap that costs new players significant time.
4. Letting Worship charge sit at maximum for days
This is a common trap that costs new players significant time.
5. Rushing world unlocks with underlevelled gear
This is a common trap that costs new players significant time.
First 5 Hours Checklist
- Understand Ten character roster and AFK gains and Time Candy
- Choose Divine Knight as starting build
- Clear Blunder Hills main content
- Acquire Efaunt set or equivalent upgrade
- Reach Yum-Yum Desert
- Fill every character slot as soon as the game offers one, even if the new character is level 1. An idle level 1 still generates AFK gains, still contributes to the Guild bonus and still counts toward account wide totals, so an empty slot is pure lost income.
- Decide which Elite class you want on each character before you take the World 2 subclass, because Divine Knight only comes from Squire and Siege Breaker only comes from Bowman. Rerolling later means repeating the whole class quest chain.
Tips for New Players
- Fill every character slot as soon as the game offers one, even if the new character is level 1. An idle level 1 still generates AFK gains, still contributes to the Guild bonus and still counts toward account wide totals, so an empty slot is pure lost income.
- Decide which Elite class you want on each character before you take the World 2 subclass, because Divine Knight only comes from Squire and Siege Breaker only comes from Bowman. Rerolling later means repeating the whole class quest chain.
- Alchemy bubbles are the highest value thing you can spend green stacks on for most of the mid game. Bubbles in the Power and Quicc cauldrons compound with everything else on the account, unlike a single character's gear upgrade.
- Keep one character permanently parked on Worship charge in World 3, because charge accumulates offline and caps out. A full charge tank turns into totem points that buy prayers and Chaotic boss unlocks.
- Card sets matter as much as individual cards. Completing a set gives a bonus multiplier on top of the eight slotted cards, so it is usually better to complete one set than to slot eight unrelated strong cards.
- Time Candy is the only way to catch up when a new world drops, and it does not expire. Sitting on a few hundred hours of candy before an update lets you skip the worst part of the grind on release day.
- The Post Office in World 2 gives box upgrades that scale with total orders across the account, not per character. Spreading orders across ten characters gets you to the useful box levels far faster than pushing one.
- Obols are easy to ignore and they should not be. Upgrading obol slots and fusing duplicates gives flat stat gains that apply immediately, and the fusion cost is trivial compared to crafting a new armour tier.
- Multikill from the Death Note is a drop and XP multiplier that only grows if you farm the same mob repeatedly. Bouncing between maps feels productive but resets nothing, so pick a target mob and stay on it for days.
- Constellations from the World 1 telescope require specific characters to be AFK at specific maps for set times. Work through them with skillers who are not doing anything urgent rather than pulling your main off a farm.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many characters should I actually make in IdleOn?
All ten, as soon as the slots become available. The account is the unit of progress, so an idle character still farms materials, still counts for Guild bonuses and still gives you somewhere to park a skill. There is no downside to a low level character sitting on a mining node.
Which Elite class should I take first?
Take Blood Berserker or Divine Knight first on a character you already push for combat. Cooking and Gaming are both slow account wide systems, so starting them early matters more than the raw damage difference between Elite classes.
Is Legends of IdleOn pay to win?
There is a gem shop and an Alchemy tab literally named p2w, but every world boss and every skill is reachable without spending. Paying mostly buys character slots, inventory space and AFK time, which compresses the calendar rather than the ceiling.
How long does AFK progress last while the game is closed?
Offline gains keep accruing while you are away and are claimed on your next login, with the claim rate depending on your AFK gain percentage for that skill or for combat. Time Candy then lets you skip forward further on demand.
What is the fastest way past the World 4 Troll?
Stack account wide damage rather than a single character's gear. Alchemy bubbles, cards, stamps, star signs and Post Office boxes all feed the same damage number, and most players who stall on the Troll are missing several of those rather than one item upgrade.
