Marvel Rivals Crafting Guide — Resources, Recipes & Priorities

Marvel Rivals crafting guide covering resource gathering, upgrade priorities, crafting recipes, and efficiency tips.

Marvel Rivals is NetEase's free-to-play 6v6 hero shooter featuring Marvel characters, competing directly with Overwatch in the team-based FPS space. The game differentiates itself with destructible environments that reshape maps mid-match, and Team-Up abilities that trigger powerful combo attacks between specific hero pairs. With a roster spanning Avengers, X-Men, Guardians, and villains, each hero plays distinctly with abilities faithful to their comic book counterparts. The game launched in December 2024 and has maintained a strong player base with regular seasonal hero additions and balance updates.

Resource management and crafting determine how quickly your power scales. This guide covers what to prioritize, where to farm, and how to avoid wasting resources on the wrong upgrades.

Upgrade Path

Early Game (Tokyo 2099 — Yggsgard)

  1. Upgrade your starting weapons to functional level
  2. Craft basic defensive gear
  3. Save specialty materials — you'll need them later
  4. Focus on Iron Man Repulsors once accessible

Mid Game (Shin-Shibuya)

  1. Push Iron Man Repulsors to mid-level upgrades
  2. Start collecting materials for Spider-Man Web Shooters
  3. Craft situational consumables for boss fights
  4. Upgrade build-specific gear pieces

Late Game (Midtown — Klyntar)

  1. Max out Spider-Man Web Shooters — this is your top priority
  2. Complete your build's core gear set
  3. Craft endgame consumables
  4. Optional: upgrade secondary weapons for variety

Crafting Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Spreading upgrades across multiple weapons — Focus one weapon to max before diversifying.
  2. Hoarding materials — Use them. The game provides enough if you farm efficiently.
  3. Upgrading the wrong gear — Check our builds guide before investing.
  4. Ignoring Shin-Shibuya farming — This area has the best resource-to-time ratio in mid-game.
  5. Crafting consumables too early — Save specialty materials for late-game recipes.

Resource Efficiency Tips

  • Check for Team-Up synergies in the hero select screen. A Spider-Man + Venom duo or Thor + Hulk duo gains a powerful bonus ability that can swing entire teamfights.
  • Farm Shin-Shibuya during mid-game for the best return on time
  • Check the walkthrough to know when each resource becomes available
  • Match your farming route to your build — some classes farm faster in certain areas
