Omeda Studios rebuilt Epic's cancelled Paragon into this free to play third person MOBA, leaving Early Access on 30 November 2022 and hitting 1.0 on 20 August 2024. Over 45 heroes fill five roles across three lanes and a jungle, and every ability is aimed over the shoulder rather than clicked, so terrain and vaulting actually change fights. Matches revolve around two timed objectives, Fangtooth at five minutes and Orb Prime later.

Boss fights are where Predecessor tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Offlane Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Levels 1 to 6, solo Recommended build: Midlane with Magician Crest

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. You pick one of eight crests at the start of a match and complete a small quest, usually killing minions and damaging enemies, to advance it through three tiers. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Crest starter items and upgrades to create safe windows.
  • Magician Crest is enough to handle everything here.

Midlane Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Levels 1 to 6, solo Recommended build: Midlane with Magician Crest

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Fangtooth and Orb Prime timers. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

  • Fangtooth and Orb Prime timers is critical for these fights.
  • Farm Magician Crest upgrades if you're struggling.
  • Consider switching to Midlane if your current setup isn't working.

Duo Lane Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Levels 1 to 6, two players Recommended build: Offlane with Warrior Crest

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Crest starter items and upgrades and Jungle buff camps mastery.
  • Warrior Crest makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Fangtooth Pit Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: From 5 minutes onward Recommended build: Offlane with Warrior Crest

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • Warrior Crest at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Orb Prime Pit Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: From 7 minutes, Orb Prime at 20 minutes Recommended build: Offlane with Warrior Crest

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your equipment: A max-upgraded Warrior Crest trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Crest starter items and upgrades: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
