Shakes and Fidget is Playa Games' satirical browser RPG, spun out of the German comic strip of the same name and on Steam since 2016. Combat runs itself: you spend a daily pool of adventure thirst on Tavern quests, pick an opponent in the Arena, and read the fight log afterwards. The depth sits outside the fights, in eleven classes with fixed damage and health multipliers, a Fortress that caps every other building at its own level, and an Underworld that only opens once your Gem Mine passes level 10.
Boss fights are where Shakes and Fidget tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

| Underworld | Extreme | Warrior | Weapon |
Arena Bosses
Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Level 1 and up, available from the first minute Recommended build: Mage with Shield
Strategy
The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. Every day refills a pool of adventure thirst measured in minutes, and each Tavern quest spends a slice of it for gold, experience and items. This is your primary tool here.
Key tips:
- Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
- Use Adventure thirst and quests to create safe windows.
- Shield is enough to handle everything here.
Dungeons Bosses
Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Level 10 to roughly level 110 Recommended build: Mage with Shield
Strategy
Early game bosses test your understanding of Automated combat and class multipliers. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.
Key tips:
- Automated combat and class multipliers is critical for these fights.
- Farm Shield upgrades if you're struggling.
- Consider switching to Mage if your current setup isn't working.
Tower Bosses
Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Post-dungeon, roughly level 100 and up Recommended build: Warrior with Weapon
Strategy
Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.
Key tips:
- You need both Adventure thirst and quests and Fortress building and raids mastery.
- Weapon makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
- See our combat guide for advanced techniques.
Fortress Bosses
Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Level 25 and up Recommended build: Warrior with Weapon
Strategy
Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.
Key tips:
- Make sure your build is fully optimized.
- Weapon at max upgrade is recommended.
- Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.
Underworld Bosses
Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: After Gem Mine level 10 and the Tower Recommended build: Warrior with Weapon
Strategy
Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.
Key tips:
- Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
- Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
- These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.
General Boss Tips
- Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
- Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
- Upgrade your equipment: A max-upgraded Weapon trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
- Use Adventure thirst and quests: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
- Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
