Too Kyo Games and Media.Vision released The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- on 24 April 2025 for Switch and PC, with Kazutaka Kodaka and Kotaro Uchikoshi writing and Aniplex publishing. Takumi Sumino is pulled out of the Tokyo Residential Complex into a school ringed by fire, where fifteen students form the Special Defense Unit and hold the building for 100 days against School Invaders. Story days alternate with grid based battles, and the choices you make across those days fork the run into 21 routes and just over 100 endings.

The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- features distinct areas with increasing difficulty. This guide covers every major location in progression order: what to do, what to get, and when to move on. For the step-by-step path, see our walkthrough.

School area: Starting Area

The central exploration zone and the first one unlocked, containing more Battle Point tiles than any other area. Its resource mix is balanced rather than specialised, which makes it the default early stop.

What to Do Here

Desert area: Early Game

North of the school and dominated by Machine tiles. Getting in requires a level 2 Fire Extinguisher, so it opens once you have put a first upgrade into that tool rather than into anything else.

What to Do Here

Forest area: Mid Game

East of the school and weighted toward Plant tiles, unlocking at the same Fire Extinguisher level as the Desert. Running the two together on consecutive days is the efficient way to spend a level 2 tool.

Underground area: Late Game

South of the school and heavy in Mineral tiles. The level 3 Fire Extinguisher requirement puts it in the second half of the hundred days for most runs, which lines up with when mineral costs start to bite.

What to Do Here

  • Full build optimization is expected by this point.
  • Hemoanima katana should be your primary, fully upgraded.
  • Exploration tiles and Fire Extinguisher levels mastery starts mattering here.
  • Farm resources for the push into Coast area.

Coast area: Endgame

West of the school and the Textile source, sharing the level 3 Fire Extinguisher gate with the Underground. Textile demand tends to spike later than machine or plant demand, so most players unlock this last.

What to Do Here

  • This is endgame. Best-in-slot gear and a perfected build are mandatory.
  • See our boss guide for endgame fight strategies.
  • The reward loop: clear content → upgrade → push harder content.
  • Experiment with Eito Aotsuki for variety once you've mastered the meta.

Exploration Tips

  1. Clear areas in order: School area → Desert area → Forest area → Underground area → Coast area. Skipping areas means missing resources you'll need later.
  2. Check every corner: Hidden caches and secrets are often in non-obvious locations.
  3. Match your equipment: Some areas favor different equipment types.
  4. Read the walkthrough: Our walkthrough provides exact progression milestones for each area.
  5. Don't rush: Clearing an area fully gives more resources than speedrunning two areas.
