CaveLiquid released Tiny Pasture through Gamersky Games on 17 February 2025, and it docks as a thin strip along the bottom edge of your desktop rather than filling a window. You buy baby animals, feed them, clear their droppings, and collect the coins they produce once they reach adulthood. The base roster is 15 species running from a 120 coin Rabbit up to a 100,000 coin Giant Panda, with paid packs such as Baabaa and Moomoo, Ribbitribbit and Quackquack and Azure Waters adding more, and every animal rolls one of five quality tiers that decide both its income and how long it stays a baby.
Starting Tiny Pasture can feel overwhelming. This guide tells you exactly what to focus on during your first hours so you don't waste time on things that don't matter yet. For the full progression path, see our walkthrough.
What Kind of Game Is This?
Tiny Pasture is a simulation game built around Desktop strip pasture and Five quality tiers per animal. The core loop involves mastering these systems to progress through increasingly challenging content.
What to expect: Time investment in learning mechanics, experimentation, and gradual mastery. The game rewards patience and knowledge.
Choosing Your First Build
| Build | Beginner Rating | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Gray quality | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Light Blue quality | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Yellow quality | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Red quality | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
| Rainbow quality | Excellent for beginners | Balanced approach |
Our recommendation: Start with Light Blue quality. It offers the most forgiving experience while teaching core mechanics.
Avoid Rainbow quality as your first pick. It requires deep knowledge of game systems to use effectively. Once you're ready, check our classes guide for all options.
First Session Step-by-Step
Step 1: Learn Desktop strip pasture
The pasture sits as a narrow band across the bottom of the screen instead of a normal game window, and you can drag its width and move it while you work in another application. A middle-mouse click makes an animal trail your cursor across the strip.
This is the foundation. Spend your first 15-30 minutes getting comfortable with how Desktop strip pasture works before worrying about anything else. Our combat guide breaks this down further.
Step 2: Head to Starter row: Rabbit and Corgi
You begin with a Rabbit, and the Corgi at 300 coins is the first unlock. A Gray Rabbit pays 4 coins per minute and matures in one minute, so this stage is about learning the feed and clean loop rather than earning.
Clear the main content here before moving on. Everything teaches fundamentals you'll need later. See our maps guide for all locations.
Step 3: Get Your First Upgrade
Look for Magic Broom: it's the most accessible early upgrade. Sweeps droppings without you triple-clicking each one, and its five upgrade levels shorten the cooldown between sweeps. Waste left on the ground drags an animal's mood down, so this is the first quality of life purchase worth making.
Step 4: Understand Five quality tiers per animal
Every animal arrives as Gray, Light Blue, Yellow, Red or Rainbow, paying base rate, 1.2x, 1.667x, 3.75x and 10x respectively. A community sample of 110,349 pulls landed at roughly 55 percent Gray, 31 percent Light Blue, 10 percent Yellow, 3.6 percent Red and 0.19 percent Rainbow.
This is the system most new players overlook. Invest time here early. It pays off throughout the entire game.
Step 5: Push to Small pets: Cat, Hamster and Fox
Cat at 720, Hamster at 1,800 and Fox at 2,400 form the first real income step. Unlocks come from a mix of lifetime earnings and raising a given species to adulthood a set number of times, so keep cycling cheap animals rather than hoarding one.
Essential Mechanics Explained
Desktop strip pasture
The pasture sits as a narrow band across the bottom of the screen instead of a normal game window, and you can drag its width and move it while you work in another application. A middle-mouse click makes an animal trail your cursor across the strip.
Five quality tiers per animal
Every animal arrives as Gray, Light Blue, Yellow, Red or Rainbow, paying base rate, 1.2x, 1.667x, 3.75x and 10x respectively. A community sample of 110,349 pulls landed at roughly 55 percent Gray, 31 percent Light Blue, 10 percent Yellow, 3.6 percent Red and 0.19 percent Rainbow.
Feeding and droppings upkeep
Fullness drains over time and animals leave waste at random, and both block a happy animal from paying out properly. Triple-clicking clears a mess by hand, while the Magic Broom sweeps automatically once you own it.
Mystery Curtain breeding
Put two adult animals of the same species behind the Mystery Curtain and both parents are consumed to produce a single offspring, usually at a better quality tier than either parent. Taking the Curtain from level 1 to level 5 cuts the breeding cooldown from 15 minutes down to 1 minute.
Coins per minute income
Adults accumulate coins into a purse at a fixed rate you collect by clicking. A Gray Rabbit pays 4 coins per minute and a Gray Giant Panda pays 3,333, with a Rainbow of the same species paying ten times the Gray figure. The DLC Cow tops the scale at 10,004 as a Gray and 100,040 as a Rainbow.
Common Beginner Mistakes
1. Spending an entire bank on one expensive animal while half the pasture slots sit empty, which caps income far below what the same coins spread across cheap slots would have paid
2. Breeding two Pandas or Cows together and losing 200,000 coins of parents for a cub that rolled the same tier they already were
3. Leaving droppings and empty food bowls alone during a long work session, so a full pasture spends hours in a bad mood instead of earning
4. Chasing Rainbow rolls on expensive species
At roughly 0.19 percent per pull, the same coin spent on 120 coin Rabbits buys hundreds of attempts instead of one.
5. Assuming a Rainbow baby is instantly better
Its growth timer is ten to twenty times longer than a Gray of the same species, so it can occupy a slot for over an hour before it produces a single coin.
First 5 Hours Checklist
- Understand Desktop strip pasture and Five quality tiers per animal
- Choose Light Blue quality as starting build
- Clear Starter row: Rabbit and Corgi main content
- Acquire Magic Broom or equivalent upgrade
- Reach Small pets: Cat, Hamster and Fox
- Buy pasture slots before you buy a more expensive species. A second Hamster in an empty slot adds its full rate to your income, while upgrading one slot from Hamster to Fox only adds the difference between the two. Slots compound and single upgrades do not.
- The Magic Broom is the first facility worth maxing. Droppings appear at random and sour an animal's mood until cleared, and triple-clicking each one manually is what actually eats your attention while you are supposed to be working in another window.
Tips for New Players
- Buy pasture slots before you buy a more expensive species. A second Hamster in an empty slot adds its full rate to your income, while upgrading one slot from Hamster to Fox only adds the difference between the two. Slots compound and single upgrades do not.
- The Magic Broom is the first facility worth maxing. Droppings appear at random and sour an animal's mood until cleared, and triple-clicking each one manually is what actually eats your attention while you are supposed to be working in another window.
- Rainbow rolls average about one in every 500 purchases, measured at 214 Rainbows across 110,349 pulls. That is why Rabbits at 120 coins are the standard rerolling animal: you can afford several hundred attempts long before you could afford one Panda.
- Check the growth clock before you get excited about a high tier baby. A Gray Rabbit matures in one minute but a Rainbow Rabbit takes 20, and a Rainbow Panda takes an hour and a half against 4 minutes 30 seconds for a Gray. A Rainbow occupying a slot pays nothing until it grows up.
- Breeding consumes both parents. Only run the Mystery Curtain on species you can cheaply replace, because trading two adult Pandas worth 200,000 coins for one cub is a real loss if the tier does not improve.
- Take the Mystery Curtain to level 5 as soon as breeding becomes your main upgrade path. Cutting the cooldown from 15 minutes to 1 minute is a fifteenfold increase in how many attempts you get per session.
- The quality multipliers are not evenly spaced. Light Blue is only 1.2x base and Yellow is 1.667x, but Red jumps to 3.75x and Rainbow to 10x. Treat everything below Red as breeding stock rather than as an income source.
- Upgrade the Cuckoo House for the food quality, not just the timer. Level 1 drops Carrots worth 5 Fullness while the top tier drops Acorns worth 28, so a maxed house keeps animals fed for roughly five times as long per drop.
- Unlocks are gated on two separate counters: lifetime coins earned and the number of times you have raised a given species to adulthood. If a species will not unlock despite a large bank, you are missing adulthood counts and need to cycle cheap animals through instead.
- Cap the Money Beehive at five bees before a long idle session. Purses fill and then stop accruing, so an unattended pasture without bees stops earning the moment every animal's purse is full rather than continuing overnight.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many animals are in Tiny Pasture?
The base roster is 17 species: Rabbit, Corgi, Cat, Hamster, Fox, Chicken, Parrot, Capybara, Alpaca, Red Panda, Ghostie, Slime, Deer, Zombie, Panda, Sheep and Cow. Seasonal events add extra limited-time animals on top of that during holidays.
What do the animal colours mean?
They are quality tiers. Gray pays the base rate, Light Blue 1.2x, Yellow 1.667x, Red 3.75x and Rainbow 10x. Higher tiers also take much longer to grow from baby to adult, so a Rainbow is not an instant upgrade to your income.
How rare is a Rainbow animal?
Around 0.19 to 0.2 percent per purchase. One community dataset recorded 214 Rainbows from 110,349 pulls, which works out to roughly one every 500 attempts, which is why players reroll on the 120 coin Rabbit rather than anything expensive.
Does breeding lose the parents?
Yes. Placing two adults of the same species in the Mystery Curtain consumes both and returns one cub, usually at a higher quality tier. Level the Curtain to 5 and the cooldown drops from 15 minutes to 1 minute, which makes cheap species the sensible breeding stock.
Does the game keep running when I am doing something else?
That is the point of it. Tiny Pasture sits as a resizable strip at the bottom of your desktop while you work, and with a maxed Cuckoo House feeding the animals, a Magic Broom sweeping, and five bees on the Money Beehive collecting, it runs unattended for hours.
