KLab's free-to-play gacha action game reached Steam on 17 August 2020, five years after the 2015 Japanese mobile launch, and it shares one account across PC and phone. You fight with a team of three in real-time 3D hack-and-slash quests, and everything above that is collection management: Soul Trees, Ascension, link slots, accessories and Transcendence. KLab reported 80 million downloads by August 2023 and has kept adding characters continuously since, which is why any character tier list you read has a short shelf life. Plan around the systems, which are stable, rather than around whichever character is strongest this month.
Your choice of weapons defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.
Weapons Rankings
| Weapon | Tier | Best For | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal attack chains | S | Timed modes like Guild Quests, general questing, sustained boss damage | The free, cooldown-free damage that carries most clears. |
| Strong Attack | A | Boss damage windows and burst checks where a short opening decides the run | Higher damage per input than a normal chain but gated behind a cooldown. |
| Special Move | A | Boss openings, and as the gate you must clear to start Transcendence | Each character's signature attack, fully voiced by the original Japanese anime cast. |
| Accessories | B | Topping up whichever stat a specific quest punishes you for lacking | Equippable items that add stats on top of level, Soul Tree and links. |
| Killer abilities | B | Epic Raids and any fixed-composition quest where you know the enemy list in advance | Bonus damage against enemies of a matching Affiliation, such as Soul Reaper Killer against Soul Reaper enemies. |
S-Tier: Normal attack chains
The free, cooldown-free damage that carries most clears. Normal Attack Damage, shortened to NAD by the community, is boosted by preferential NAD Soul Traits sitting in link slots and by attack accessories.
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Tier | S |
| Best For | Timed modes like Guild Quests, general questing, sustained boss damage |
| Key Mechanic | Five attribute wheel |
| Recommended Role | Normal Attack Damage lead |
How to get it: Available from mid-game onward. See our walkthrough for the exact progression point.
Best builds using Normal attack chains: Pairs naturally with Normal Attack Damage lead thanks to how their stat scaling lines up.
A-Tier: Strong Attack
Higher damage per input than a normal chain but gated behind a cooldown. Reduced strong attack cooldown Soul Traits and preferential Strong Attack Damage traits are what turn this from a filler input into a build.

A-Tier: Special Move
Each character's signature attack, fully voiced by the original Japanese anime cast. Its level matters for more than damage: taking a Special Move to level 5 is what opens the Extra Stat Boost Slot for Transcendence.

Weapons Progression Path
The order you should acquire weapons as you progress:
- Starting gear → Enough to clear Story Quests
- Strong Attack → Your first real upgrade, available early
- Special Move → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
- Normal attack chains → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
- Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous
Weapons Tips
- Always upgrade your primary weapon before diversifying. One strong option beats three mediocre ones.
- Match your weapons to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
- Read the attribute cycle once and keep it in your head: Power beats Technique, Technique beats Speed, Speed beats Power. Heart and Mind are the outlier pair, each strong and weak against the other, so a Heart team against a Mind stage cuts both ways.
- Check our tier list for how weapons rankings affect overall build effectiveness.
