DDraceNetwork is a free, open source cooperative 2D precision platformer built on the Teeworlds engine, and it arrived on Steam on 17 August 2020. Up to 64 players share one server and drag each other through thousands of community maps using a grappling hook and a hammer. Official servers run across 14 countries, and every finish feeds a single global points table holding over 33,000 points.

Your choice of weapons defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.

S-Tier: Hook

Always available, reaches about 11 blocks, and pulls you toward hookable tiles at up to roughly 20 blocks per second. It also grabs other tees, which is what makes DDNet cooperative rather than a solo obstacle course.

Weapons Progression Path

The order you should acquire weapons as you progress:

  1. Starting gear → Enough to clear Novice
  2. Hammer → Your first real upgrade, available early
  3. Shotgun → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
  4. Hook → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
  5. Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous

Weapons Tips

  • Always upgrade your primary weapon before diversifying. One strong option beats three mediocre ones.
  • Match your weapons to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
  • Bind the dummy toggle to a single key before doing anything else. Almost every solo technique, from deepfly to dummy hammer parts, assumes you can swap control between two tees without pausing to open a menu.
  • Check our tier list for how weapons rankings affect overall build effectiveness.
