Equipment Rankings
| Equipment | Best With | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hatchery | Every park, and worth placing before you finalise enclosure walls rather than after. | The Hatchery is where extracted genomes become live animals, and incubation cost rises with every trait you add on top of the base species. |
| Ranger Post | Large enclosures and any paddock holding a species that escapes when comfort dips. | A Ranger Post placed inside an enclosure lets your teams run welfare checks on every animal in it without driving across the whole map. |
| Ranger Team jeep | Routine upkeep across a park too big to micromanage by hand. | Ranger jeeps refill feeders, repair fences and take the photographs that raise species knowledge. |
| Mobile Veterinary Unit | Treating a sick or injured animal before an illness spreads through the enclosure. | The MVU is the vehicle you take direct control of to tranquilise and medicate a specific animal. |
| Paleo-Medical Facility | Any park past the first few species, and essential before you keep a herd of anything. | This is where diseases are researched and cures are produced, and without it an outbreak simply runs its course. |

Equipment Analysis
Hatchery: The Hatchery is where extracted genomes become live animals, and incubation cost rises with every trait you add on top of the base species. It also sets the release point, so its placement decides where a newly hatched carnivore first appears.
Ranger Post: A Ranger Post placed inside an enclosure lets your teams run welfare checks on every animal in it without driving across the whole map. It is the cheapest way to keep comfort visible on a large paddock.
Ranger Team jeep: Ranger jeeps refill feeders, repair fences and take the photographs that raise species knowledge. You can set patrol routes and let them work unattended, which is far less tedious than driving each task manually.
Mobile Veterinary Unit: The MVU is the vehicle you take direct control of to tranquilise and medicate a specific animal. Left idle at a Response Facility or Paleo-Medical Facility it repairs itself, so you rarely need to buy replacements.
Paleo-Medical Facility: This is where diseases are researched and cures are produced, and without it an outbreak simply runs its course. It doubles as a repair point for damaged ranger vehicles and MVUs.
Meta Analysis
The current meta in Jurassic World Evolution 2 centers on Dinosaur comfort and territory needs and Disease outbreaks and the Paleo-Medical Facility. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.
What's strong right now:
- Campaign with Hatchery is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
- Ranger Teams and the Mobile Veterinary Unit builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
- Challenge Mode remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.
What's underrated:
- Chaos Theory is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
- Ranger Team jeep offers excellent performance for its investment level.
What's overhyped:
- Pure Dominion Biosyn Expansion builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
Quick Picks by Situation
