Detailed Builds Analysis
Farmer (S-Tier)
Focus on crop optimization for maximum gold. Spring: Strawberries (from Egg Festival), Summer: Starfruit (from Desert), Fall: Cranberries or Ancient Fruit (greenhouse). Quality Sprinklers automate watering by mid-Year 1. The Farming skill provides Artisan perk (+40% artisan goods price).
Best with: Quality Sprinklers, Iridium Sprinklers (endgame), Kegs, Seed Makers Stat focus: Sprinkler automation > Keg production > Crop selection
Rancher (A-Tier)
Animal husbandry with Coops (chickens, ducks, rabbits) and Barns (cows, goats, pigs). Products are valuable: Truffle Oil from pigs is extremely profitable. The Rancher profession at Farming 10 gives +20% animal product price. Requires daily animal interaction for friendship.
Best with: Deluxe Coop, Deluxe Barn, Auto-Grabber, Heater Stat focus: Animal friendship > Auto-Grabber > Oil Maker (truffles)
Miner (B-Tier)
Focuses on mining for ores, gems, and combat drops. The Mines provide copper, iron, gold, and iridium for tool upgrades and crafting. Skull Cavern runs with bombs and Staircases reach deep floors with iridium. The Miner profession gives +1 ore per vein.
Best with: Galaxy Sword, Bombs, Staircases, Space Boots, Iridium Band Stat focus: Galaxy Sword > Bombs > Food (Spicy Eel for luck/speed)
Fisher (A-Tier)
Fishing provides the best early-game income. Catfish (Spring rain), Lava Eel, and Legend Fish sell for thousands. The Fisher profession (+25% fish value) into Angler (+50% fish value) makes fishing lucrative throughout the game.
Best with: Iridium Rod, Trap Bobber or Cork Bobber, Bait Stat focus: Fishing skill > Rod upgrades > Bobber selection
Artisan (S-Tier)
The endgame money strategy. Grow crops → process in Kegs (wine = 3x base value) or Preserves Jars (jelly = 2x + 50g). Ancient Fruit Wine with Artisan profession sells for 2,310g each. A full Greenhouse of Ancient Fruit with 100+ Kegs produces millions per season.
Best with: Kegs (100+), Greenhouse full of Ancient Fruit, Artisan profession Stat focus: Keg count > Ancient Fruit seeds > Processing speed

Equipment Analysis
Galaxy Sword: The best pre-endgame sword, obtained by bringing a Prismatic Shard to the three pillars in the Calico Desert. 60-80 damage with fast swing speed. Outclasses every other weapon until the Infinity Blade.
Infinity Blade: The ultimate weapon, upgraded from Galaxy Sword using Galaxy Souls (from Qi challenges) and Cinder Shards. 80-100 damage. The best weapon in the game for Skull Cavern deep runs and endgame combat.
Lava Katana: A 55-64 damage sword purchased from the Adventurer's Guild for 25,000g. The best weapon available before obtaining a Prismatic Shard. Fire damage adds a burning DOT. Good transitional weapon.
Obsidian Edge: A 30-45 damage sword found in the Mines (Floor 90+ reward). Free and decent for mid-game. The critical hit rate is decent. Replaced quickly once you reach deeper Mines or get the Lava Katana.

Meta Analysis
The current meta in Stardew Valley centers on seasonal crops and relationship building. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one.
What's strong right now:
- Farmer with Galaxy Sword is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
- mine combat builds are gaining ground as players find new synergies.
- Miner remains essential for learning hard content.
What's underrated:
- Rancher is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
- Lava Katana offers excellent performance for its investment level.
What's overhyped:
- Pure Artisan builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
