Free Wing put this free sandbox Three Kingdoms RPG into Early Access on 25 March 2025, published with NPC Entertainment. Three battle systems run in parallel: real time legion warfare, turn based martial arts duels and turn based verbal debates, all fed by a general's military, martial and intellectual souls. Interface, audio and subtitles are Simplified Chinese only, which is the single largest barrier for English speaking players despite a Very Positive rating across roughly 6,600 reviews.
Picking the right build determines how your experience plays out. These builds are ranked by overall effectiveness, factoring in damage, survivability, gear requirements, and how well they scale into endgame. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Gearing Tips
- Invest in your primary equipment first, since it gives the biggest power spike. See our weapons guide for rankings.
- The game ships with Simplified Chinese interface, audio and subtitles only. Before starting, look up one of the Steam community guides explaining how to play it in English, because menu density is high and the domestic affairs panels are unusable if you cannot read them.
- Commit early to one soul track. Points spread across military, martial and intellectual leave a general mediocre in all three systems, and the three battle types do not share progress.
- Don't spread upgrade resources across multiple builds until endgame
