Equipment Analysis

Military Soul: The track that governs legion battles. Soul points spent here improve how your armies perform in the real time layer, which is the only system that takes and holds cities.

Martial Soul: The track behind personal duels in the turn based card system. It decides which cards you can equip when challenged or when entering a martial arts conference.

Intellectual Soul: The track behind verbal battles, tongue fighting conferences and much of the administration layer. It is the weakest track in open war and the strongest at avoiding one.

Special Souls: Equipped upgrades bought with accumulated soul points, layered on top of the three base tracks. Equipping the right specials is described in the game as the most direct way to raise combat effectiveness.

Skill Cards: The cards used in duels and debates, adjusted through the Adjust Three Souls option on the personnel panel. Each general carries a different set depending on which souls you have developed.

Meta Analysis

The current meta in Legend of Heroes: Three Kingdoms centers on Military, martial and intellectual souls and Real time legion battles. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.

What's strong right now:

  • Lord with Military Soul is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
  • Turn based duel and debate cards builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
  • Field Military General remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.

What's underrated:

  • General is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
  • Intellectual Soul offers excellent performance for its investment level.

What's overhyped:

  • Pure Mercenary builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
