Multiverse Loot Hunter is an idle loot RPG that left Early Access on 15 August 2025 with 216 Steam achievements and an 85 percent positive score from its English reviews. You travel a chain of numbered planes that opens with World 1 Three Kingdoms and World 2 Wuxia, recruit historical and legendary figures such as Lu Bu, Hua Tuo and Tokugawa Ieyasu, then park spare heroes in a company or a zoo so they keep earning while the game runs on its own.

These tips go beyond the basics. They're the strategies experienced players use to play more efficiently, the hidden mechanics most people miss, and the optimizations that compound over a full playthrough. If you're just starting, check our beginner's guide first.

Essential Tips

1. Clear Major Battle 1 early and keep running it until the plus one Energy per turn offhand drops, because it changes how often every magic character can act

2. Aim for 20 to 30 percent cooldown reduction from stone equipment and talents before chasing raw attack, since skill uptime is what actually scales damage here

3. Take the Wudang four piece in World 2 for its 18 percent cooldown reduction and swap to the Allied set once World 7 is open

4. Do not run three healers at once in the early game, because without deep cooldown reduction you cannot spam their skills often enough to justify the slots

5. Push to World 4 Crusades to unlock the Hunting Lodge, then prioritise beast skills over beast stat lines while your gear is still low tier

6. Job books cost a one time payment per class, so unlocking a second job early is cheap insurance and lets you swap freely afterwards

7. Skill passives keep working even when the skill is unequipped, but only while your current job matches the mastery requirement, so check that before rebuilding

8. Give Tokugawa Ieyasu the CEO seat because his Govern talent raises management skill, and efficiency stacks downward onto every division below him

9. Match characters to divisions by their icons, for example Yan Chixia carries four forge icons and belongs in the Forge rather than Commerce

Build Optimization

The difference between an average build and an optimized one is massive. See our builds guide for full breakdowns.

For Warrior (A-Tier):

  • Focus on Plane hopping worlds combinations for maximum output.
  • Core gear: Energy Offhand
  • Stat priority: Offensive stats first

For Archer (A-Tier):

  • Versatile approach that handles any situation.
  • Core gear: Wudang Set
  • Stat priority: Balanced stats

Mechanic Interactions

Understanding how Multiverse Loot Hunter's systems interact is where the real optimization lives. Our combat guide covers this in detail.

Plane hopping worlds + Job advancement books: Progression runs through numbered worlds starting at World 1 Three Kingdoms, then World 2 Wuxia, then World 4 Crusades, on past World 9. Combined with Job advancement books, a job book unlocks a class once, after which swapping between unlocked jobs is free.

Adjutant companions + Spirit beast hunting: Every hero can carry an adjutant, and that adjutant needs its own gear rather than inheriting yours. When paired with Spirit beast hunting, beasts are captured through the hunting lodge, which unlocks in world 4.

Company and zoo income scaling: Idle income comes from assigning characters to jobs. A CEO sits above the Forge, Research, Builder, Commerce, Pharmacy, Study, History and Strategy divisions, work efficiency stacks down that hierarchy, and captured beasts can be placed in a zoo that charges admission.

Equipment Efficiency

EquipmentBest Use CaseWhy
Energy OffhandSorcerer, Medic and any hero that wants an extra skill every turnThe plus one Energy per turn offhand drops from Major Battle 1 and is the single most repeated recommendation on the Steam forums for casters.
Wudang SetEarly and mid game skill spam before World 7 opensA World 2 set that gives roughly 15 percent cooldown reduction at two pieces and 18 percent at four pieces.
Allied SetLate game builds that already cleared World 7The World 7 counterpart to Wudang, on the same two piece and four piece cooldown reduction pattern but at a higher gear tier.
Foundry Refined GearFixing a good item that rolled the wrong main statThe Foundry rerolls the stats on gear you already own and can push an item up a quality step, so it is where surplus currency goes.
Cooldown Reduction StonesEvery job, since skill uptime drives damage across the whole rosterStone equipment carries cooldown reduction directly, and combined with talents most builds aim for 20 to 30 percent before anything else.

Location Efficiency

World 1 Three Kingdoms (World 1): The opening plane, populated by Three Kingdoms figures such as Lu Bu and Hua Tuo, where you learn recruiting and the basic job wheel.

World 2 Wuxia (World 2): The martial arts plane and the source of the Wudang set, the first meaningful cooldown reduction package in the game.

World 4 Crusades (World 4): The Crusades plane, home to Richard the Lionheart and Saladin, and the point where the Hunting Lodge and the beast system open up.

Major Battle Stages (World 1 onward): Each world carries its own Major Battle with a fixed gear list, and Major Battle 1 is farmed specifically for the plus one Energy offhand.

The Hunting Lodge (World 4 onward): The base building that turns captured spirit beasts into stat bonuses and skill slots, and feeds the zoo you charge admission for.

Mistakes Even Veterans Make

  1. Ignoring cooldown reduction and stacking attack instead, which leaves you standing around waiting for skills to come back.
  2. Building a party of three support characters before you have the Energy income to use them all.
  3. Rushing world progression and never opening the Hunting Lodge in World 4, so your roster runs with no beast bonuses at all.
  4. Leaving company positions empty or filling them at random instead of matching characters to the Forge, Research and Commerce icons they carry.
  5. Refining gear at the Foundry before you have a piece worth keeping, which burns currency on items you replace two worlds later.

Pro Quick Tips

  • Clear Major Battle 1 early and keep running it until the plus one Energy per turn offhand drops, because it changes how often every magic character can act.

  • Take the Wudang four piece in World 2 for its 18 percent cooldown reduction and swap to the Allied set once World 7 is open.
  • Start with Archer, switch to Warrior when ready
  • Invest in Energy Offhand above everything else
  • Clear areas in order: World 1 Three Kingdoms → World 2 Wuxia → World 4 Crusades → Major Battle Stages → The Hunting Lodge. See our maps guide
  • Plane hopping worlds + Job advancement books together are stronger than either alone
