Pathea Games left Early Access with My Time at Sandrock on 2 November 2023, moving the Portia formula into a desert town where water is rationed and the last workshop just closed. You collect a Builder License from Matilda at City Hall, then take commissions from Yan at the Commerce Guild while Mi-an competes for the same board. Progress runs through machines rather than through farming: a Recycler breaks down scrap, a Furnace smelts bars and glass, a Grinder makes gears and rivets and a Processor cuts planks, all feeding an Assembly Station that rebuilds the town.

Boss fights are where My Time at Sandrock tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Sandrock Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Available from day one Recommended build: Salvage and ruin diver with Bronze Sword and Shield

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. After registering your workshop at City Hall during Becoming Official, the Commission Board inside the Commerce Guild opens up. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Commission board and workshop ranking to create safe windows.
  • Bronze Sword and Shield is enough to handle everything here.

Eufaula Salvage Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Unlocks with Picking Up the Slack Recommended build: Salvage and ruin diver with Bronze Sword and Shield

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Machine chain from scrap to parts. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

Gecko Station Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Unlocks with In Trusses we Trust Recommended build: Commission specialist with Pickhammer

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Commission board and workshop ranking and Data Discs and the Research Center mastery.
  • Pickhammer makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Breach Valley Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Mid game, combat required Recommended build: Commission specialist with Pickhammer

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • Pickhammer at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Dead Sea Ruins Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: Endgame, deepest ruin Recommended build: Commission specialist with Pickhammer

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your equipment: A max-upgraded Pickhammer trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Commission board and workshop ranking: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
