This Party Animals tier list ranks every major option by overall effectiveness. Rankings factor in damage output, survivability, versatility, gear requirements, and how well each option scales.

Tier definitions: S = best in class, always a strong pick. A = strong and competitive, minor weaknesses. B = solid but clearly outperformed in most situations. C = viable only for players who enjoy the playstyle.

AHit and run puncher8.5/10Never stand still beside a target. Approach, land one hit, roll away, come back when their ring is low.
SObjective runner9.5/10Take the least contested path to the scoring point, drop the object short of a scrum instead of running into it, and let a teammate clear the last stretch.
BWeapon hunter7.5/10Grab the item, hold a chokepoint where extra reach counts, and refuse to chase anyone into open ground.
ATeam blocker8.5/10Stay home and make them come to ground you already own. Grab rather than swing, because a grab cannot be rolled out of.

Detailed Characters Analysis

Ledge guard grappler (S-Tier)

Skips punching almost entirely and wins by grabbing opponents and walking them off the edge. A grab costs less stamina than three missed swings and cannot be shrugged off once it connects.

Best with: Both paws empty so grab and throw stay available. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Stamina first, then positioning, then patience

Hit and run puncher (A-Tier)

Opens a gap, throws one committed punch, then rolls out before the counter arrives. Single accurate hits beat flurries, because a knocked-down animal is easy to follow up on and a whiffed flurry leaves you empty.

Best with: No weapon, roll used constantly. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Spacing, then stamina, then timing

Objective runner (S-Tier)

A Team Score specialist who ignores fights and moves the scoring object. On a map like Fluffy Redemption the team that delivers wins no matter how many knockouts the other side collected.

Best with: Nothing carried except the objective. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Route knowledge, then stamina, then map awareness

Weapon hunter (B-Tier)

Sprints for the taser or lollipop at round start and fights with reach for the rest of the match. Excellent when you get there first. Useless when someone beats you to it and you arrive with no stamina left.

Best with: Taser first, plunger or lollipop as a fallback. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Spawn timing, then reach control

Team blocker (A-Tier)

Goalkeeper in Team Score, bodyguard in Last Stand. Standing in the enemy carrier's path or grabbing them a step from the scoring point flips whole rounds without winning a single fight.

Best with: Empty paws, positioned near the scoring point. See our builds guide for full setup. Stat focus: Positioning, then stamina, then grab timing

Weapons Analysis

Punch: The default attack, thrown with either paw depending on the button. It costs stamina and misses often, because both bodies are wobbling independently, so it works best after you have created a step of space.

Headbutt: A forward lunge that carries your whole body weight into the target. Cheapest way to break somebody's grip on a ledge, since it does not need you to line a paw up first.

Taser: A pickup that leaves whoever it touches limp for long enough to be dragged somewhere unpleasant. In Last Stand a stun near an open edge is functionally an elimination.

Plunger: A joke melee pickup that swings with more reach than a paw. Reach beats damage in a game where nobody can aim, so it wins trades against unarmed animals almost by default.

Lollipop: Large, heavy and slow. It hits with real momentum but telegraphs badly, and carrying it means you cannot throw, because thrown attacks do not work on held weapons.

Meta Analysis

The current meta in Party Animals centers on Ragdoll physics control and Stamina bar. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.

What's strong right now:

  • Ledge guard grappler with Punch is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
  • Grab and throw builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
  • Objective runner remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.

What's underrated:

  • Hit and run puncher is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
  • Taser offers excellent performance for its investment level.

What's overhyped:

  • Pure Team blocker builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
