Saber Interactive's RoadCraft, released 20 May 2025, puts you in charge of a disaster recovery contractor working eight maps of roughly four square kilometres each. You clear wreckage, pour sand, pave asphalt, then hand the finished road to AI convoys that haul cargo while you go and build the next one. Terrain deforms permanently under weight, so the shortcut you rushed on trip one is the mud pit that strands a loaded truck on trip three.

RoadCraft features distinct areas with increasing difficulty. This guide covers every major location in progression order: what to do, what to get, and when to move on. For the step-by-step path, see our walkthrough.

Aftermath: Starting Area

The opening North African map, set in spring after a storm has passed. It teaches the road chain on relatively forgiving terrain with debris blocking most of the useful routes.

What to Do Here

Precipice: Early Game

A desert map where the job is delivering supplies while holding back flooding. Sand is everywhere but stable ground is not, and the water keeps changing which routes still work.

What to Do Here

  • Focus on mastering Terrain deformation. It's critical from this point on.
  • Farm for Kronenwerk L-34 if you don't have it yet.
  • Complete all objectives for maximum rewards.
  • Prepare for the difficulty spike in Sojourn.

Sojourn: Mid Game

Another desert map built around rerouting a gas line while sinkholes open under the terrain. Routes need rechecking constantly because the ground itself is the hazard here.

Sunken: Late Game

An Eastern European summer map dominated by standing water and soft ground. Wheeled vehicles struggle badly, which makes tracked machines and early paving far more valuable than usual.

What to Do Here

  • Full build optimization is expected by this point.
  • Tayga 6455B should be your primary, fully upgraded.
  • Recovery Tokens mastery starts mattering here.
  • Farm resources for the push into Kernel.

Kernel: Endgame

The Scandinavian summer map, with forest, rock and long distances between sites. Logging equipment and the heavy transporter matter more here than on any of the desert maps.

What to Do Here

  • This is endgame. Best-in-slot gear and a perfected build are mandatory.
  • See our boss guide for endgame fight strategies.
  • The reward loop: clear content → upgrade → push harder content.
  • Experiment with Mobile crane for variety once you've mastered the meta.

Exploration Tips

  1. Clear areas in order: Aftermath → Precipice → Sojourn → Sunken → Kernel. Skipping areas means missing resources you'll need later.
  2. Check every corner: Hidden caches and secrets are often in non-obvious locations.
  3. Match your equipment: Some areas favor different equipment types.
  4. Read the walkthrough: Our walkthrough provides exact progression milestones for each area.
  5. Don't rush: Clearing an area fully gives more resources than speedrunning two areas.
