Titan Forge rebuilt SMITE in Unreal Engine 5 and opened it on Steam on 27 August 2024 as a free to play title. The deepest change sits in the stat system: Physical and Magical Power became Strength and Intelligence, every basic attack scales off 100 percent of Strength and 20 percent of Intelligence, and abilities state which stat they use. Aspects go further by rewriting a single ability on a god, often flipping them into a different role entirely.

SMITE 2 features distinct areas with increasing difficulty. This guide covers every major location in progression order: what to do, what to get, and when to move on. For the step-by-step path, see our walkthrough.

Mid Lane: Starting Area

The shortest path between the two bases, which makes it the fastest rotation point on the map. Mid laners are usually ranged magical gods who clear waves quickly and then help elsewhere.

What to Do Here

Solo Lane: Early Game

The shorter side lane, sitting on the Fire Giant half of the map. It is designed for self sufficient gods because help arrives less often here than anywhere else.

What to Do Here

  • Focus on mastering God Aspects. It's critical from this point on.
  • Farm for Rod of Tahuti if you don't have it yet.
  • Complete all objectives for maximum rewards.
  • Prepare for the difficulty spike in Duo Lane.

Duo Lane: Mid Game

The longer side lane near Gold Fury, held by a carry and a support together. The support's job is to hold the wave and buy vision while the carry accumulates farm.

Jungle buff camps: Late Game

Neutral camps between the lanes that grant gold, experience and one of four buffs: Caustic for damage, Primal for resources, Inspiration and Pathfinder. Clearing camps on both sides increases their power.

What to Do Here

  • Full build optimization is expected by this point.
  • Deathbringer should be your primary, fully upgraded.
  • Jungle buffs and objectives mastery starts mattering here.
  • Farm resources for the push into Fire Giant pit.

Fire Giant pit: Endgame

The larger of the two major objectives, on the Solo lane side. Killing it grants Might of the Fire Giant, a team wide boost to damage and protections that decides most late game pushes.

What to Do Here

  • This is endgame. Best-in-slot gear and a perfected build are mandatory.
  • See our boss guide for endgame fight strategies.
  • The reward loop: clear content → upgrade → push harder content.
  • Experiment with Assassin for variety once you've mastered the meta.

Exploration Tips

  1. Clear areas in order: Mid Lane → Solo Lane → Duo Lane → Jungle buff camps → Fire Giant pit. Skipping areas means missing resources you'll need later.
  2. Check every corner: Hidden caches and secrets are often in non-obvious locations.
  3. Match your equipment: Some areas favor different equipment types.
  4. Read the walkthrough: Our walkthrough provides exact progression milestones for each area.
  5. Don't rush: Clearing an area fully gives more resources than speedrunning two areas.
