War Robots is a free to play 6v6 third person mech shooter from MY.GAMES, originally a Pixonic mobile title that arrived on Steam on 5 April 2018 and still shares matchmaking with the phone version. Matches run ten minutes and are decided by beacon control rather than kills, which means a light robot that runs and captures often does more for the score than a heavy that farms damage. The hangar carries more than fifty robots plus a separate Titan class, each with its own ability, and everything can be pushed through the MK2 and MK3 upgrade tiers using two different currencies and Upgrade Tokens. Steam reviews sit around 59 percent positive, and almost every negative one names the same thing: progression is slow unless you spend, and the newest robots are noticeably stronger than the ones you already own. Read the ability text before you commit resources, because in War Robots an ability decides a robot's role far more than its hardpoint count does.
Resource management and crafting determine how quickly your power scales. This guide covers what to prioritize, where to farm, and how to avoid wasting resources on the wrong upgrades.
Crafting Priority List
The order you should invest resources:
| Priority | Target | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Primary weapons | Biggest damage increase per resource spent |
| 2 | Core build gear | Enables your role's key combinations |
| 3 | Defensive upgrades | Survivability for boss fights |
| 4 | Secondary weapons | Situational options for specific content |
| 5 | Consumables | Temporary boosts for hard content |

Upgrade Path
Early Game (Springfield to Yamantau)
- Upgrade your starting weapons to functional level
- Craft basic defensive gear
- Save specialty materials, since you'll need them later
- Focus on Blaze once accessible
Mid Game (Shenzhen)
- Push Blaze to mid-level upgrades
- Start collecting materials for Nucleon
- Craft situational consumables for boss fights
- Upgrade build-specific gear pieces
Late Game (Dead City to Power Plant)
Crafting Mistakes to Avoid
- Spreading upgrades across multiple weapons: Focus one weapon to max before diversifying.
- Hoarding materials: Use them. The game provides enough if you farm efficiently.
- Upgrading the wrong gear: Check our builds guide before investing.
- Ignoring Shenzhen farming: This area has the best resource-to-time ratio in mid-game.
- Crafting consumables too early: Save specialty materials for late-game recipes.
Resource Efficiency Tips
- Domination is decided by beacon score inside ten minutes, so capturing two beacons in the first twenty seconds is worth more than any duel you win later in the match.
- Farm Shenzhen during mid-game for the best return on time
- Check the walkthrough to know when each resource becomes available
- Match your farming route to your build. Some classes farm faster in certain areas
