This Astral Party tier list ranks every major option by overall effectiveness. Rankings factor in damage output, survivability, versatility, gear requirements, and how well each option scales.
Tier definitions: S = best in class, always a strong pick. A = strong and competitive, minor weaknesses. B = solid but clearly outperformed in most situations. C = viable only for players who enjoy the playstyle.

Equipment Rankings
| Equipment | Best With | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Brick | Finishing a wounded rival before they can reach a start point and buy their third level. | An Effect card that deals 5 damage outright, the heaviest plain damage option in the general pool. |
| Laser Beam | Chipping down a leader without spending your turn walking into a duel you might lose. | 3 damage at range with no duel required, sitting between Slingshot at 2 and Brick at 5. |
| Snatch | Delaying whoever is one purchase from winning, which is the single highest impact play in the game. | Steals 5 coins from a target. |
| Time Bomb | Swing plays when you are behind and a normal turn will not close the gap. | A coin flip card: 50 percent chance of 99 damage, otherwise it passes to the next player. |
| Barrier | Holding in reserve once you become the coin leader and everyone starts aiming Snatch and Brick at you. | A counter card that cancels an effect targeting you. |

Equipment Analysis
Brick: An Effect card that deals 5 damage outright, the heaviest plain damage option in the general pool. There is a separate Anti-Monster Brick for the cooperative mode that hits monsters for the same amount.
Laser Beam: 3 damage at range with no duel required, sitting between Slingshot at 2 and Brick at 5. Cheap, predictable and available often enough to build a plan around.
Snatch: Steals 5 coins from a target. In a game where three level purchases end the match, taking coins is frequently better value than taking health.
Time Bomb: A coin flip card: 50 percent chance of 99 damage, otherwise it passes to the next player. Holding it is dangerous, and passing it along is half the appeal.
Barrier: A counter card that cancels an effect targeting you. Random Select and Eye for an Eye do related jobs, redirecting an effect to a random player or straight back at the caster.
Meta Analysis
The current meta in Astral Party centers on Dice movement and panel effects and Battle cards and Effect cards. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.
What's strong right now:
- Mimi with Brick is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
- Duels with Defend or Evade builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
- Alana remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.
What's underrated:
- Fanny is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
- Snatch offers excellent performance for its investment level.
What's overhyped:
- Pure Teru builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
Quick Picks by Situation
| Situation | Best Build | Best Gear | Why |

| New player | Fanny | Laser Beam | Most forgiving, teaches mechanics |
| Hard content | Alana | Snatch | Survivability when you need it |
| Group play | Padman | Time Bomb | Utility and team support |
| Experienced player | Teru | Barrier | Unique challenge and high ceiling |
