PlayWithFurcifer put Backpack Battles into Early Access on 8 March 2024 and shipped version 1.0 on 13 June 2025, with IndieArk publishing. You buy items in a shop phase, arrange them inside a grid backpack where placement decides what triggers, and the fight then resolves on its own against another player's saved backpack. Seven classes each carry five subclasses, and more than 500 items exist across six rarities from Common up to Unique.

Legendary sword crafted from a Hero Sword and two Gloves of Haste. It attacks twice per activation and speeds up items placed near it, which makes the cells around it the most valuable real estate in the bag.

Godly gloves crafted from a Blood Amulet and Gloves of Haste. They accelerate nearby item effects and return health on hits, so they solve damage and sustain in one slot.

Equipment Progression Path
The order you should acquire equipment as you progress:
- Starting gear → Enough to clear Bronze
- Vampiric Gloves → Your first real upgrade, available early
- Manathirst → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
- Falcon Blade → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
- Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous
Equipment Tips
- Always upgrade your primary equipment before diversifying. One strong option beats three mediocre ones.
- Match your equipment to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
- Learn the four or five craft chains you actually want before you buy anything. Wooden Sword plus two Whetstones makes a Hero Sword, and that plus two Gloves of Haste makes a Falcon Blade, so a Whetstone in round one is a plan rather than filler.
