Beasts of Bermuda is a multiplayer creature survival game from Sastrei Studios, in Steam Early Access since 21 December 2018. You pick a prehistoric animal, spawn onto a shared server with dozens of other players, and try to grow from a hatchling into an adult without starving, overheating, panicking or being eaten. The three play modes split the audience: Free Roam grows you slowly with forgiving resources, Life Cycle speeds growth but tightens survival and tracks monthly leaderboards, and Combat drops you in as an adult on a small map for straight fighting. What separates it from the other dinosaur survival games is the talent system, which spends points you earn as you grow across Power, Speed and Survival branches, so two Tyrannosaurus players can end up with completely different animals. Weather, tides and hurricanes are simulated rather than cosmetic, and stress from bad weather or the wrong neighbours will drain you faster than any predator.

Boss fights are where Beasts of Bermuda tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Ancestral Plains Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Any growth, best for 0.4 and above Recommended build: Acrocanthosaurus with Pounce and latch

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. Growth is a number between 0 and 1 and it drives everything else. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Growth from hatchling to adult to create safe windows.
  • Pounce and latch is enough to handle everything here.

Rival Shores Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: 0.3 growth and above Recommended build: Acrocanthosaurus with Pounce and latch

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Power, Speed and Survival talent branches. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

  • Power, Speed and Survival talent branches is critical for these fights.
  • Farm Pounce and latch upgrades if you're struggling.
  • Consider switching to Acrocanthosaurus if your current setup isn't working.

Titania Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: 0.4 growth and above Recommended build: Tyrannosaurus rex with Bite and bleed

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Growth from hatchling to adult and Comfort and stress mastery.
  • Bite and bleed makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Caldera Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Adult only in Combat mode Recommended build: Tyrannosaurus rex with Bite and bleed

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • Bite and bleed at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Volcano Bay Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: 0.3 growth and above Recommended build: Tyrannosaurus rex with Bite and bleed

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your equipment: A max-upgraded Bite and bleed trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Growth from hatchling to adult: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
