IMCGAMES first launched Granado Espada in Korea in 2006 and brought this version to Steam on 15 October 2017, the same game that reached the West as Sword of the New World. Its defining feature is Multiple Character Control: you run a family of characters and field three of them at once, each locked into its own stance, instead of a single avatar. Barracks begin at four character slots and grow with Quarter Slot Permits bought for Vis, the player traded currency. The Baroque flavoured Age of Exploration setting spans over 300 areas, from the Reboldoeux stone pits at level 1 up to Lucifer Castle at 130 and above.

Boss fights are where Granado Espada tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Reboldoeux Stone Pit Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: Level 1 to 6 Recommended build: Wizard with Great Sword

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. You control up to three characters at once and switch between them with a keypress, and all three fight at the same time. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Multiple Character Control to create safe windows.
  • Great Sword is enough to handle everything here.

Al Quelt Moreza Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Level 4 to 17 Recommended build: Wizard with Great Sword

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Stances tied to the equipped weapon. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

  • Stances tied to the equipped weapon is critical for these fights.
  • Farm Great Sword upgrades if you're struggling.
  • Consider switching to Wizard if your current setup isn't working.

Garden of Kings Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Level 19 to 29 Recommended build: Fighter with Rapier

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Multiple Character Control and Barracks and the family roster mastery.
  • Rapier makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Porto Bello Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: Level 36 to 64 Recommended build: Fighter with Rapier

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • Rapier at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Dr. Torsche's Mansion Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: Level 54 to 85 Recommended build: Fighter with Rapier

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your equipment: A max-upgraded Rapier trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Multiple Character Control: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
