IMCGAMES first launched Granado Espada in Korea in 2006 and brought this version to Steam on 15 October 2017, the same game that reached the West as Sword of the New World. Its defining feature is Multiple Character Control: you run a family of characters and field three of them at once, each locked into its own stance, instead of a single avatar. Barracks begin at four character slots and grow with Quarter Slot Permits bought for Vis, the player traded currency. The Baroque flavoured Age of Exploration setting spans over 300 areas, from the Reboldoeux stone pits at level 1 up to Lucifer Castle at 130 and above.

This walkthrough takes you from your first session to endgame content. Each phase has specific goals, priorities, and milestones. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Phase 1: Getting Started (Reboldoeux Stone Pit)

The first field zone outside the starting city and the place every family learns Multiple Character Control. Monsters here are slow and sparse by design, which gives you room to practise switching between three characters without dying for it.

Level/Difficulty: Level 1 to 6 Key Rewards: Basic stance experience, starting crafting materials, the tutorial quest chain rewards

What to Do in Reboldoeux Stone Pit

  1. Learn Multiple Character Control. You control up to three characters at once and switch between them with a keypress, and all three fight at the same time. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
  2. Pick Wizard as your starting build. See our builds guide for why.
  3. Multiple Character Control is not optional. Fielding one character in a three slot party means a third of the damage and none of the healing, and the level curve assumes all three are working.
  4. Acquire your first equipment upgrade: Great Sword or whatever's available.
  5. Clear all main content before moving on.

Phase 1 Checklist

  • Understand Multiple Character Control fundamentals
  • Wizard selected and functional
  • Reboldoeux Stone Pit main content cleared
  • Ready for Al Quelt Moreza

Phase 2: Early Game (Al Quelt Moreza)

A wide open zone that carries a family through its first ten levels and beyond, holding over twenty creature types including Dragonwasps, Hell Hound variants and Zebra-eaters, plus a Hell Hound Leader as its boss. It connects onward to Ferruccio Junction and the Cathari Falls.

Level/Difficulty: Level 4 to 17 Key Rewards: Hell Hound Leader boss, crafting materials, cooking ingredients, summoning spinels

What to Do in Al Quelt Moreza

  1. Work on Stances tied to the equipped weapon. A character's available stances depend entirely on what is in their hands. This system becomes critical from here on.
  2. Farm for Great Sword if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
  3. Stances come from weapons, not from classes. If a guide tells you to run Blandir Cruz, that is a polearm instruction, and putting a rapier on the same Fighter removes the stance from the bar entirely.
  4. Complete all objectives before pushing to Garden of Kings.
  5. Consider whether Fighter might suit your playstyle better than Wizard.

Phase 2 Checklist

  • Stances tied to the equipped weapon integrated into gameplay
  • Great Sword acquired
  • Al Quelt Moreza fully cleared
  • Ready for Garden of Kings

Phase 3: Mid Game (Garden of Kings)

The step up after Al Quelt Moreza, and the zone where a family that has been getting by on one damage dealer starts to struggle. Pack density here is the reason most players finally level a second offensive stance rather than pushing one further.

Level/Difficulty: Level 19 to 29 Key Rewards: Veteran stance progress, mid tier crafting drops, access to the level 30 quest chain

What to Do in Garden of Kings

  1. Master Barracks and the family roster. Everything you own belongs to a family, not to a character, and the barracks screen is where you see and rotate that roster. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
  2. Start working toward Rapier. It's the best equipment and becomes accessible around now.
  3. Your character promotion track runs Veteran at level 100, Expert between 110 and 120, and Master at 120 and above. Basic and veteran stances carry you from level 1 to 100 before Expert stances become the point.
  4. This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
  5. Start investing in Auto hunting mode for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.

Phase 3 Checklist

  • Barracks and the family roster mastered
  • Rapier acquired or in progress
  • Garden of Kings fully cleared
  • Ready for Porto Bello

Phase 4: Late Game (Porto Bello)

A long lived hunting area whose monster levels span a wide band, which means a family can return to it repeatedly as it grows instead of outlevelling it in a week. It is the usual home of a family between the level 30 and level 60 walls.

Level/Difficulty: Level 36 to 64 Key Rewards: Sustained stance experience, the level 40 to 60 gear drops, RNPC recruitment quest steps

What to Do in Porto Bello

  1. Finalize your build. You should be running Fighter or Wizard with optimized gear.
  2. Rapier should be your primary. If you don't have it yet, prioritize getting it.
  3. Vis is player traded, so its buying power moves with the server economy. Quarter Slot Permits and barracks expansions hold value far better than mid tier gear you will replace by level 40.
  4. Colony Wars and Faction Wars optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
  5. Farm this area for the resources needed to push into Dr. Torsche's Mansion.

Phase 4 Checklist

  • Build fully optimized
  • Rapier upgraded to max
  • Porto Bello fully cleared
  • Ready for Dr. Torsche's Mansion

Phase 5: Endgame (Dr. Torsche's Mansion)

An instanced mansion area and one of the better known mid game destinations, running well into the eighties. It is where families that have coasted on auto hunting find out whether their stance choices actually hold up under manual control.

Level/Difficulty: Level 54 to 85 Key Rewards: Expert stance groundwork, high tier crafting materials, the route toward Castilla at 100 and above

What to Do in Dr. Torsche's Mansion

  1. Dr. Torsche's Mansion tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
  2. RNPCs join at their own levels rather than at level 1, so recruiting one is often faster than levelling a fresh character into the same role.
  3. The endgame loop: run Dr. Torsche's Mansion, optimize gear, push harder content.
  4. Experiment with Elementalist for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
  5. This is where Colony Wars and Faction Wars mastery separates good players from great ones. See our tips guide for advanced strategies.

Phase 5 Checklist

  • Endgame content on farm
  • Best-in-slot gear acquired
  • Dr. Torsche's Mansion fully cleared
  • Ready for challenge content

Common Progression Mistakes

  • Building a family of three damage dealers with no healer, which works until Garden of Kings and then stops working entirely.
  • Levelling stance experience across several weapon types at once, so no single stance reaches veteran tier and the whole family stays weak.
  • Spending early Vis on gear rather than on Quarter Slot Permits, then hitting the four slot barracks limit with no room for RNPCs.
  • Leaving auto hunting running in a zone far above the family's level, which produces a long stretch of deaths instead of experience.
  • Treating the game like a standard MMO and playing one character, which throws away the one system the whole design is built around.

Key Tips for Smooth Progression

  1. Multiple Character Control is not optional. Fielding one character in a three slot party means a third of the damage and none of the healing, and the level curve assumes all three are working.
  2. Stances come from weapons, not from classes. If a guide tells you to run Blandir Cruz, that is a polearm instruction, and putting a rapier on the same Fighter removes the stance from the bar entirely.
  3. Your character promotion track runs Veteran at level 100, Expert between 110 and 120, and Master at 120 and above. Basic and veteran stances carry you from level 1 to 100 before Expert stances become the point.
  4. Vis is player traded, so its buying power moves with the server economy. Quarter Slot Permits and barracks expansions hold value far better than mid tier gear you will replace by level 40.
  5. RNPCs join at their own levels rather than at level 1, so recruiting one is often faster than levelling a fresh character into the same role.
