This Granado Espada tier list ranks every major option by overall effectiveness. Rankings factor in damage output, survivability, versatility, gear requirements, and how well each option scales.
Tier definitions: S = best in class, always a strong pick. A = strong and competitive, minor weaknesses. B = solid but clearly outperformed in most situations. C = viable only for players who enjoy the playstyle.

Equipment Rankings
| Equipment | Best With | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rapier | Fighters who want speed over reach, duelling stances, and players who prefer switching stance mid fight rather than committing to one guard. | A medium weight Fighter weapon that opens the Epee Garde and Sabre Garde stances, plus Epee Garde of Grim on the darker line. |
| Great Sword | Holding aggro in dense field zones, mid level grinding from Tetra Hillside upward, and any family with only one melee character. | A heavy Fighter weapon carrying Plow Guard and Roof Guard. |
| Pistol | Hybrid Fighters, players who want a ranged option without giving up melee, and dual wield builds. | A medium weapon that opens Freestyle Shot on its own and Double-Guns Shot when dual wielded. |
| Rifle | Musketeers, long unattended grinding sessions, and any family that would rather not fight in melee at all. | The Musketeer's main weapon, carrying Standing Shot, Kneeling Shot and Aiming Shot among others. |
| Polearm | Second line Fighters, families with a dedicated shield character in front, and single target pressure on field bosses. | A heavy Fighter weapon behind the Blandir Cruz and Penetrar Cruz stances. |

Equipment Analysis
Rapier: A medium weight Fighter weapon that opens the Epee Garde and Sabre Garde stances, plus Epee Garde of Grim on the darker line. It attacks quickly and works well with a main gauche in the off hand, which unlocks Main-gauche Garde as a separate stance entirely.
Great Sword: A heavy Fighter weapon carrying Plow Guard and Roof Guard. The swings are slow and wide, hitting several enemies in an arc, which is what makes it the front line answer once packs get large enough that single target guards stop coping.
Pistol: A medium weapon that opens Freestyle Shot on its own and Double-Guns Shot when dual wielded. Pairing a pistol with a sword unlocks Heaven or Hell, one of the few stances that mixes melee and ranged attacks in the same rotation.
Rifle: The Musketeer's main weapon, carrying Standing Shot, Kneeling Shot and Aiming Shot among others. Range is the entire point: a rifle Musketeer can kill most field monsters before they reach the party, which is why rifle families dominate auto hunting.
Polearm: A heavy Fighter weapon behind the Blandir Cruz and Penetrar Cruz stances. It reaches further than a great sword and hits fewer targets per swing, trading crowd coverage for the ability to strike from the second rank behind a shield carrier.
Meta Analysis
The current meta in Granado Espada centers on Multiple Character Control and Stances tied to the equipped weapon. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.
What's strong right now:
- Fighter with Rapier is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
- Barracks and the family roster builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
- Scout remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.
What's underrated:
- Wizard is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
- Pistol offers excellent performance for its investment level.
What's overhyped:
- Pure Elementalist builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
Quick Picks by Situation
| Situation | Best Build | Best Gear | Why |

| Hard content | Scout | Pistol | Survivability when you need it |
| Group play | Musketeer | Rifle | Utility and team support |
| Experienced player | Elementalist | Polearm | Unique challenge and high ceiling |
