Q: What is new in the map compared to the first two games?

The map is roughly twice the size at about 20.8 square kilometres across 14 districts. Manhattan returns and Brooklyn and Queens are added: Brooklyn splits into Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg and Little Odessa, while Queens splits into Astoria and Downtown Queens. The Coney Island stretch and the Brooklyn Bridge are both on the map, and the lower-rise outer boroughs are why Web Wings exist.

Q: Do Peter and Miles share progress?

Partly. City activities, gadgets and the 26-skill shared tree apply to both. The exclusive trees do not: Peter has 19 skills of his own and Miles has 17, and those points come from playing as that character. Switching between them regularly in the open world keeps both trees filling rather than leaving one behind.

Q: How many gadgets are there?

Five. Web Shooters and Upshot are available from the start, then Web Grabber, Concussion Burst and finally Ricochet Web, which takes the longest to unlock. Concussion Burst becomes Sonic Burst later in the campaign when Peter and Miles retune it to disrupt symbiotes. The Web Grabber is generally considered the strongest of the five once Grabtastic and Heave Ho are bought.

Q: What does New Game Plus add?

It carries your progress into a fresh run and converts levelling into Ultimate Levels, each costing 40,000 XP against the 4,000 that regular levels need. Every Ultimate Level unlocks a new suit style, and getting all of them means reaching Ultimate Level 9. Ultimate difficulty also becomes available once the campaign has been finished once.

Q: How does the PC version hold up?

Nixxes handled the port and it launched on 30 January 2025 with ray tracing, DLSS 3 upscaling, ultra-wide support and DualSense features when the controller is wired. It is the same content as the PlayStation 5 release rather than a cut-down version, and the graphics options go well beyond the console presets.

Insomniac's sequel came to PC on 30 January 2025 in a port handled by Nixxes, and it roughly doubles the map of the first two games to about 20.8 square kilometres across 14 districts. Manhattan returns, and Brooklyn and Queens are new, including the Coney Island stretch. You switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the open world, and each has his own skill tree alongside a third tree they share: 19 skills for Peter, 17 for Miles and 26 in the shared tree. Peter's line runs through the mechanical Spider-Arms into the symbiote and out the other side into Anti-Venom, while Miles builds on the bio-electric Venom powers he had in his own game.

Astoria Bosses

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. Outside story missions you hold a button to switch between Peter and Miles anywhere in the city, and the camera flies across the map to wherever the other one is standing. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
Use Two Spider-Men on one save to create safe windows.
Upshot is enough to handle everything here.

Downtown Queens Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: Open world, good first district to hit 100 percent Recommended role: Peter with the symbiote with Upshot

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Parry and Perfect Dodge. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

Parry and Perfect Dodge is critical for these fights.
Farm Upshot upgrades if you're struggling.
Consider switching to Peter with the symbiote if your current setup isn't working.

Downtown Brooklyn Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: Open world, the densest activity district outside Manhattan Recommended role: Peter with Spider-Arms with Web Shooters

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

You need both Two Spider-Men on one save and Three skill trees mastery.
