Weapons Analysis

Web Shooters: The default gadget and the one you never unequip. Increased Capacity adds 4 shots, Splash Zone turns the third shot into an area effect, and Web Burst knocks enemies back at point-blank range. Recycle boosts the Focus you gain from hits, which quietly supports every other build.

Upshot: Fires a volley that suspends enemies in the air, leaving them open to aerial combos. Heavy Pop Up extends it to Brute-class enemies and Fire Power raises the number of projectiles per volley, so a single use can lift a small group.

Web Grabber: Fires webbing across a radius and then yanks everything inside it, enemies and throwable objects alike, into a single point. Grabtastic raises the capacity from 4 to 6, Heave Ho adds Brutes, and Remix electrifies the objects it deploys.

Concussion Burst: Knocks back everything nearby with a concussive blast, and becomes Sonic Burst later in the campaign once Peter and Miles retune it to disrupt symbiotes. Burst Disarm makes enemies drop weapons and Shockwave widens the radius.

Ricochet Web: The last gadget to unlock. It fires a projectile that bounces between enemies and webs each one it touches. Increased Potency adds bounces and Split Shot divides the projectile on ricochet, which turns one shot into a webbed group.

Meta Analysis

The current meta in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 centers on Two Spider-Men on one save and Parry and Perfect Dodge. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.

What's strong right now:

  • Peter with Spider-Arms with Web Shooters is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
  • Three skill trees builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
  • Peter with Anti-Venom remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.

What's underrated:

  • Peter with the symbiote is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
  • Web Grabber offers excellent performance for its investment level.

What's overhyped:

  • Pure Shared tree generalist builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
