Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered is the PC version of Insomniac Games' 2018 PlayStation 4 open world action game, rebuilt by Nixxes Software and released on Steam on 12 August 2022. Peter Parker is eight years into the job when it opens, so there is no origin sequence and the story goes straight at Wilson Fisk, Martin Li and Otto Octavius. The map is Manhattan alone, running from the Financial District up to Harlem, and the three chapter story pack The City That Never Sleeps is included. Miles Morales appears as a supporting character with a handful of powerless stealth sections rather than as a second playable web-slinger.
Your choice of weapons defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.
Weapons Rankings
| Weapon | Tier | Best For | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web Shooters | S | Removing individual enemies from a fight for good, especially near walls and railings. | The default gadget and the only one that pins enemies to walls permanently when they are stuck against a surface. |
| Impact Web | A | One shot removal of a priority target across an arena. | Fires a single heavy web that launches whoever it hits backwards and sticks them to whatever they land on. |
| Trip Mine | A | Stealth base clearing and setting up chain takedowns before a fight starts. | Sticks to a surface or an enemy and yanks anyone who walks past into whatever it is attached to. |
| Spider-Drone | B | Buying breathing room in an outnumbered fight or covering a corner during a base clear. | Launches a small drone that automatically fires on nearby enemies for its duration, adding pressure while you handle something else. |
| Electric Web | B | Shielded enemies and tightly grouped squads that ordinary webs bounce off. | Catches a target in an electric web that arcs to anyone standing close, and it goes through the riot shields that block ordinary webbing. |
S-Tier: Web Shooters
The default gadget and the only one that pins enemies to walls permanently when they are stuck against a surface. Ammo refills quickly and the upgrade path raises both capacity and the number of web hits needed to cocoon a target.

Weapons Progression Path
The order you should acquire weapons as you progress:
- Starting gear → Enough to clear Financial District
- Impact Web → Your first real upgrade, available early
- Trip Mine → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
- Web Shooters → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
- Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous
Weapons Tips
- Always upgrade your primary weapon before diversifying. One strong option beats three mediocre ones.
- Match your weapons to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
- Swing at street level rather than over rooftops, because webs anchor to actual geometry and a low arc keeps more speed than a high one.
- Check our tier list for how weapons rankings affect overall build effectiveness.
