Medieval Dynasty starts you as Racimir, a refugee arriving in the Valley with a bag and no plan, and ends with a village you staffed and a son who inherits it. The Valley map already holds ten settlements, Borowo, Gostovia, Baranica, Branica, Denica, Hornica, Jezerica, Lesnica, Rolnica and Tutki, and you build your own on empty ground between them. Seasons run three days each on default settings, and winter is what kills unprepared players.

Medieval Dynasty features distinct areas with increasing difficulty. This guide covers every major location in progression order: what to do, what to get, and when to move on. For the step-by-step path, see our walkthrough.

Gostovia: Starting Area

A small prosperous village in the centre of the Valley, immediately across the river from Borowo, and the place the story version of the game drops Racimir. Its name comes from the Slavic root for a hospitable place.

What to Do Here

Branica: Early Game

One of the ten existing Valley settlements and a useful trade stop once your production chains are running. Villages buy and sell different goods, so a circuit rather than a single stop pays better.

What to Do Here

  • Focus on mastering Six personal skills. It's critical from this point on.
  • Farm for Iron Pickaxe if you don't have it yet.
  • Complete all objectives for maximum rewards.
  • Prepare for the difficulty spike in Denica.

Denica: Mid Game

A Valley village worth building a trade route toward once the Smithy is producing finished tools, since tools carry the biggest margin of anything you can make.

Hornica: Late Game

The name means a place in the mountains, which is exactly where it sits. Higher ground in the Valley is also where stone and ore deposits cluster, so it is a natural neighbour for a mining-focused village.

What to Do Here

  • Full build optimization is expected by this point.
  • Stone Axe should be your primary, fully upgraded.
  • Dynasty Reputation and heirs mastery starts mattering here.
  • Farm resources for the push into Rolnica.

Rolnica: Endgame

A place with fields, per the Slavic root of the name, and the surrounding flat ground reflects it. Useful as a model for how much space a real farming operation needs before you commit your own fields.

What to Do Here

  • This is endgame. Best-in-slot gear and a perfected build are mandatory.
  • See our boss guide for endgame fight strategies.
  • The reward loop: clear content → upgrade → push harder content.
  • Experiment with Innkeeper for variety once you've mastered the meta.

Exploration Tips

  1. Clear areas in order: Gostovia → Branica → Denica → Hornica → Rolnica. Skipping areas means missing resources you'll need later.
  2. Check every corner: Hidden caches and secrets are often in non-obvious locations.
  3. Match your equipment: Some areas favor different equipment types.
  4. Read the walkthrough: Our walkthrough provides exact progression milestones for each area.
  5. Don't rush: Clearing an area fully gives more resources than speedrunning two areas.
