Medieval Dynasty starts you as Racimir, a refugee arriving in the Valley with a bag and no plan, and ends with a village you staffed and a son who inherits it. The Valley map already holds ten settlements, Borowo, Gostovia, Baranica, Branica, Denica, Hornica, Jezerica, Lesnica, Rolnica and Tutki, and you build your own on empty ground between them. Seasons run three days each on default settings, and winter is what kills unprepared players.

This walkthrough takes you from your first session to endgame content. Each phase has specific goals, priorities, and milestones. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Phase 1: Getting Started (Gostovia)

A small prosperous village in the centre of the Valley, immediately across the river from Borowo, and the place the story version of the game drops Racimir. Its name comes from the Slavic root for a hospitable place.

Level/Difficulty: Chapter 1, your first hours in the Valley Key Rewards: Opening quests, the first trader, and a reference point for where to build

What to Do in Gostovia

  1. Learn Four technology tracks. Technology is split into Building, Survival, Farming and Production, and points come only from doing the matching activity. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
  2. Pick Hunter as your starting build. See our builds guide for why.
  3. Food Storage and Resource Storage come before any production building. Villagers eat from the Food Storage and draw materials from the Resource Storage, so a Woodshed with nowhere to deposit logs produces nothing usable.
  4. Acquire your first equipment upgrade: Iron Pickaxe or whatever's available.
  5. Clear all main content before moving on.

Phase 1 Checklist

  • Understand Four technology tracks fundamentals
  • Hunter selected and functional
  • Gostovia main content cleared
  • Ready for Branica

Phase 2: Early Game (Branica)

One of the ten existing Valley settlements and a useful trade stop once your production chains are running. Villages buy and sell different goods, so a circuit rather than a single stop pays better.

Level/Difficulty: Any chapter once you have goods to sell Key Rewards: Trade income and side quests that feed Dynasty Reputation

What to Do in Branica

  1. Work on Six personal skills. Your character carries six skills, Extraction, Hunting, Farming, Diplomacy, Survival and Production. This system becomes critical from here on.
  2. Farm for Iron Pickaxe if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
  3. Firewood is a winter death sentence if you leave it. Every occupied house consumes it, and the family inside starts losing health when it runs out, so stock the houses during autumn while wood gathering is still comfortable.
  4. Complete all objectives before pushing to Denica.
  5. Consider whether Lumberjack might suit your playstyle better than Hunter.

Phase 2 Checklist

  • Six personal skills integrated into gameplay
  • Iron Pickaxe acquired
  • Branica fully cleared
  • Ready for Denica

Phase 3: Mid Game (Denica)

A Valley village worth building a trade route toward once the Smithy is producing finished tools, since tools carry the biggest margin of anything you can make.

Level/Difficulty: Mid to late game Key Rewards: Tool and clothing sales, plus quest givers for reputation

What to Do in Denica

  1. Master Villager professions and building assignment. Nobody works without a building. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
  2. Start working toward Stone Axe. It's the best equipment and becomes accessible around now.
  3. Technology only moves when the matching activity happens. If Production technology is stuck, the answer is more crafting at the Workshop, Smithy, Sewing Hut, Kitchen or Tavern, not more hours in the forest.
  4. This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
  5. Start investing in Seasons, food and firewood for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.

Phase 3 Checklist

  • Villager professions and building assignment mastered
  • Stone Axe acquired or in progress
  • Denica fully cleared
  • Ready for Hornica

Phase 4: Late Game (Hornica)

The name means a place in the mountains, which is exactly where it sits. Higher ground in the Valley is also where stone and ore deposits cluster, so it is a natural neighbour for a mining-focused village.

Level/Difficulty: Mid game, once the Mine is planned Key Rewards: Proximity to stone and ore, plus a trading partner for surplus

What to Do in Hornica

  1. Finalize your build. You should be running Lumberjack or Hunter with optimized gear.
  2. Stone Axe should be your primary. If you don't have it yet, prioritize getting it.
  3. Villagers generate technology points too. Four staffed buildings quietly research more in a season than you can by hand, which is why recruiting early beats hoarding resources.
  4. Dynasty Reputation and heirs optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
  5. Farm this area for the resources needed to push into Rolnica.

Phase 4 Checklist

  • Build fully optimized
  • Stone Axe upgraded to max
  • Hornica fully cleared
  • Ready for Rolnica

Phase 5: Endgame (Rolnica)

A place with fields, per the Slavic root of the name, and the surrounding flat ground reflects it. Useful as a model for how much space a real farming operation needs before you commit your own fields.

Level/Difficulty: Mid game, alongside the Farm Shed and Barn Key Rewards: Seed and crop trading, and a template for field layout

What to Do in Rolnica

  1. Rolnica tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
  2. Do not craft iron versions of every tool. Iron Pickaxes, Iron Knives and Iron Shearing Scissors earn their cost, while stone and copper tools give better durability per resource for axes, hoes and sickles.
  3. The endgame loop: run Rolnica, optimize gear, push harder content.
  4. Experiment with Innkeeper for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
  5. This is where Dynasty Reputation and heirs mastery separates good players from great ones. See our tips guide for advanced strategies.

Phase 5 Checklist

  • Endgame content on farm
  • Best-in-slot gear acquired
  • Rolnica fully cleared
  • Ready for challenge content

Common Progression Mistakes

  • Building a Woodshed and Hunting Lodge before the Food Storage and Resource Storage, so workers produce goods with nowhere to put them.
  • Reaching winter with empty firewood chests and watching villagers lose health in houses you built yourself.
  • Crafting iron versions of every tool, which burns ore that the Smithy needed for sellable goods and gives worse durability per resource on the cheap tools.
  • Recruiting villagers faster than Dynasty Reputation supports, then finding the next recruitment slot locked when you actually need a farmer.
  • Planting fields without checking the season window, then losing a full crop cycle and the Farming technology points that came with it.

Key Tips for Smooth Progression

  1. Food Storage and Resource Storage come before any production building. Villagers eat from the Food Storage and draw materials from the Resource Storage, so a Woodshed with nowhere to deposit logs produces nothing usable.
  2. Firewood is a winter death sentence if you leave it. Every occupied house consumes it, and the family inside starts losing health when it runs out, so stock the houses during autumn while wood gathering is still comfortable.
  3. Technology only moves when the matching activity happens. If Production technology is stuck, the answer is more crafting at the Workshop, Smithy, Sewing Hut, Kitchen or Tavern, not more hours in the forest.
  4. Villagers generate technology points too. Four staffed buildings quietly research more in a season than you can by hand, which is why recruiting early beats hoarding resources.
  5. Do not craft iron versions of every tool. Iron Pickaxes, Iron Knives and Iron Shearing Scissors earn their cost, while stone and copper tools give better durability per resource for axes, hoes and sickles.
