ONE PIECE Bounty Rush is a free to play 4v4 team brawler developed by SEGA and published by Bandai Namco, where eight players fight over treasure areas across stages drawn from Alabasta, Water Seven, Marineford, Dressrosa and Onigashima. Matches are won by holding treasure, not by racking up knockouts, which is why a Runner who never fights can matter more than an Attacker with a full kill count. Characters slot into Attacker, Defender, Runner and Supporter types, carry up to three medals each, and unlock Trait 1 at level 60 and Trait 2 at level 80.

Boss fights are where ONE PIECE Bounty Rush tests everything you've learned. This guide covers strategies for bosses across all areas, organized by progression order. For general combat techniques, see our combat guide.

Alabasta Bosses

Area difficulty: Easy Recommended level: All ranks Recommended role: Defender with Skill 2

Strategy

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. Eight players split into two teams of four and contest treasure points across the stage. This is your primary tool here.

Key tips:

  • Don't rush. Learn the attack patterns first.
  • Use Treasure area capture to create safe windows.
  • Skill 2 is enough to handle everything here.

Water Seven Bosses

Area difficulty: Moderate Recommended level: All ranks Recommended role: Defender with Skill 2

Strategy

Early game bosses test your understanding of Character type roles. Players who skipped learning this mechanic will hit a wall here.

Key tips:

  • Character type roles is critical for these fights.
  • Farm Skill 2 upgrades if you're struggling.
  • Consider switching to Defender if your current setup isn't working.

Marineford Bosses

Area difficulty: Hard Recommended level: All ranks Recommended role: Attacker with Skill 1

Strategy

Mid-game bosses are the major skill check. They combine multiple mechanics and punish players who rely on a single strategy.

Key tips:

  • You need both Treasure area capture and Red Green Blue element triangle mastery.
  • Skill 1 makes a significant difference. Get it before attempting these.
  • See our combat guide for advanced techniques.

Dressrosa Bosses

Area difficulty: Very Hard Recommended level: All ranks Recommended role: Attacker with Skill 1

Strategy

Late-game bosses are serious challenges. Build optimization matters as much as mechanical skill.

Key tips:

  • Make sure your build is fully optimized.
  • Skill 1 at max upgrade is recommended.
  • Study each boss's attack patterns. Most have 2-3 phases.

Onigashima Bosses

Area difficulty: Extreme Recommended level: All ranks Recommended role: Attacker with Skill 1

Strategy

Endgame bosses are the ultimate test. They require mastery of all combat systems and an optimized build.

Key tips:

  • Top-tier build with best-in-slot gear is mandatory.
  • Master every mechanic. See our combat guide.
  • These fights reward patience and pattern recognition above all else.

General Boss Tips

  1. Learn before you fight: Spend your first attempt observing attack patterns. Don't try to win on attempt one.
  2. Match your build: Some bosses favor certain builds over others. Don't be afraid to switch.
  3. Upgrade your weapons: A max-upgraded Skill 1 trivializes fights that seem impossible with weaker gear.
  4. Use Treasure area capture: The core combat mechanic is your best defensive tool in every boss fight.
  5. Check the walkthrough: Our walkthrough tells you when you're ready for each boss.
