Equipment Analysis

Radiance: A longsword recovered in the Gray Garrison at the end of Chapter 1, and one of very few weapons with its own upgrade questline later on. It stays relevant far longer than anything else looted that early.

Finnean the Talking Weapon: A sentient weapon that reshapes itself into whatever weapon type you ask for, and comments on the choice. In practice it is a free proficiency solution while you wait for real loot to appear.

Fauchard: An exotic two handed reach polearm with an 18 to 20 threat range. It costs a feat for proficiency and repays it in a system where critical hits chain through Outflank and Seize the Moment.

Falchion: A two handed martial sword with the same 18 to 20 threat range as the Fauchard, but no exotic proficiency cost and no reach. It is the critical fishing build you can start at level 1.

Composite Longbow: The standard ranged option, adding your Strength modifier to damage up to the bow's rating. Lann's Zen Archer build is the game's showcase for what it does at high level.

Meta Analysis

The current meta in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition centers on Mythic Paths and Crusade army management. Builds that leverage both systems outperform those that focus on only one. Our combat guide explains these interactions in depth.

What's strong right now:

  • Paladin with Radiance is the benchmark. Everything else is measured against it.
  • Turn based or real time with pause builds are gaining ground as players find new combinations.
  • Sorcerer remains essential for learning hard content. See the boss guide.

What's underrated:

  • Slayer is consistently overlooked despite being the most flexible option.
  • Fauchard offers excellent performance for its investment level.

What's overhyped:

  • Pure Magus builds. High ceiling but the consistency isn't there for most players.
