Kitka Games put Stumble Guys on Steam on 7 October 2021 and Scopely publishes it now. Thirty two players start each match and successive rounds cut the field to one across an obstacle course library the store puts at more than 60 maps. Steam reviews sit at 82 percent positive over roughly 33,000 ratings, and cross play links the Steam build to the mobile versions.
This walkthrough takes you from your first session to endgame content. Each phase has specific goals, priorities, and milestones. New to the game? Start with our beginner's guide first.

Phase 1: Getting Started (Block Dash)
Walls of blocks slide toward the platform and you have to jump over them or dive through a gap. Contact pushes you toward the slime, so it doubles as the most contested elimination map in the rotation.
Level/Difficulty: Elimination round, often the decider Key Rewards: Direct eliminations, the highest skill ceiling of the survival maps
What to Do in Block Dash
- Learn 32 player knockout rounds. Every match opens with 32 stumblers and trims the field over successive rounds until one is left. Spend your first session getting comfortable with this.
- Pick Slipstream Chaser as your starting build. See our builds guide for why.
- Qualification is the only thing that counts on race maps. Finishing first and finishing eleventh both send you to the next round, so taking a safe line beats gambling on a shortcut you have not practised.
- Acquire your first equipment upgrade: Shield or whatever's available.
- Clear all main content before moving on.
Phase 1 Checklist
- Understand 32 player knockout rounds fundamentals
- Slipstream Chaser selected and functional
- Block Dash main content cleared
- Ready for Super Slide
Phase 2: Early Game (Super Slide)
A long downhill race where you slide most of the way, dodging bars and whirlpools rather than jumping obstacles. Speed comes from line choice, not from inputs.
Level/Difficulty: Opening race round Key Rewards: Fast qualification, low contact with other players
What to Do in Super Slide
- Work on Four ability loadout. You carry four abilities and four emotes into a match, each on its own button. This system becomes critical from here on.
- Farm for Shield if you haven't already. It's the key upgrade for this phase.
- Follow someone across Tile Fall for the first few seconds. Every fake tile another player falls through is a tile you now know to avoid, and the seconds you lose waiting are cheaper than a full restart.
- Complete all objectives before pushing to Lava Land.
- Consider whether Front Runner might suit your playstyle better than Slipstream Chaser.
Phase 2 Checklist
- Four ability loadout integrated into gameplay
- Shield acquired
- Super Slide fully cleared
- Ready for Lava Land
Phase 3: Mid Game (Lava Land)
Hexagonal platforms over lava that sink as the round runs, so the safe surface shrinks continuously. Survival is a matter of always having a next platform picked out before your current one drops.
Level/Difficulty: Survival round Key Rewards: Rewards patience over speed, punishes crowding
What to Do in Lava Land
- Master Ability Keys and Ability Tokens. Abilities unlock with Ability Keys earned through the Stumble Pass and Stumble Journey, then level across 15 stages using Ability Tokens from missions, Lucky Wheels, Ranked rewards and the shop. This unlocks a new layer of gameplay.
- Start working toward Punch. It's the best equipment and becomes accessible around now.
- On Block Dash, look for the largest opening in the incoming wall and commit early. Diving through a gap works, but changing your mind halfway across the platform is what actually pushes people into the slime.
- This area is the main skill check. If you can clear it, you're ready for late game.
- Start investing in Ranked ladder from Wood to Champion for the tactical depth you'll need going forward.
Phase 3 Checklist
- Ability Keys and Ability Tokens mastered
- Punch acquired or in progress
- Lava Land fully cleared
- Ready for Honey Drop
Phase 4: Late Game (Honey Drop)
A honeycomb arena where tiles vanish after they are stepped on. Standing still is how people lose, because the tile under you is already on a timer once you touch it.
Level/Difficulty: Survival round Key Rewards: Constant movement practice, easy round for careful players
What to Do in Honey Drop
- Finalize your build. You should be running Front Runner or Slipstream Chaser with optimized gear.
- Punch should be your primary. If you don't have it yet, prioritize getting it.
- Hold Shield until the last ten seconds of a round. Its window is short, and using it at the start of a race wastes it on a crowd that would have separated anyway.
- Cross play with mobile optimization starts here. Small improvements compound into massive advantages.
- Farm this area for the resources needed to push into Tile Fall.
Phase 4 Checklist
- Build fully optimized
- Punch upgraded to max
- Honey Drop fully cleared
- Ready for Tile Fall
Phase 5: Endgame (Tile Fall)
A chasm crossed by a hidden path of real tiles mixed with fakes that drop away and send you back to the start. Watching the player ahead of you fail is worth more than any ability here.
Level/Difficulty: Race and elimination round Key Rewards: Free information from other players' mistakes, big time gaps
What to Do in Tile Fall
- Tile Fall tests everything. Come prepared with your best build and gear.
- Take the outer lane on survival maps. The centre of Lava Land and Honey Drop is where the crowd bunches up, and most eliminations there come from other players rather than the hazard.
- The endgame loop: run Tile Fall, optimize gear, push harder content.
- Experiment with Late Qualifier for a fresh take once you've mastered the standard builds.
- This is where Cross play with mobile mastery separates good players from great ones. See our tips guide for advanced strategies.
Phase 5 Checklist
- Endgame content on farm
- Best-in-slot gear acquired
- Tile Fall fully cleared
- Ready for challenge content
Common Progression Mistakes
- Racing for first place on qualification maps and falling off a shortcut, when finishing safely inside the cut advances you all the same.
- Spending Shield the moment a round begins, leaving nothing for the crowded final stretch where you actually get stumbled.
- Standing still on Honey Drop to plan a route. The tile beneath you starts disappearing as soon as you touch it.
- Levelling every ability a little instead of pushing one to level 10, which leaves you with long cooldowns on all four buttons.
- Chasing kills with Punch on race maps. Every second spent lining up a hit is a second the qualification cut is closing without you.
Key Tips for Smooth Progression
- Qualification is the only thing that counts on race maps. Finishing first and finishing eleventh both send you to the next round, so taking a safe line beats gambling on a shortcut you have not practised.
- Follow someone across Tile Fall for the first few seconds. Every fake tile another player falls through is a tile you now know to avoid, and the seconds you lose waiting are cheaper than a full restart.

- Take the outer lane on survival maps. The centre of Lava Land and Honey Drop is where the crowd bunches up, and most eliminations there come from other players rather than the hazard.
