Kitka Games put Stumble Guys on Steam on 7 October 2021 and Scopely publishes it now. Thirty two players start each match and successive rounds cut the field to one across an obstacle course library the store puts at more than 60 maps. Steam reviews sit at 82 percent positive over roughly 33,000 ratings, and cross play links the Steam build to the mobile versions.
Your choice of equipment defines your damage output and playstyle. This guide ranks every major option, explains what makes each one strong, and tells you which builds they pair best with.
Equipment Rankings
| Equipment | Tier | Best For | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Punch | S | Narrow platforms, elimination maps and clearing the player standing on the tile you need. | Launches an opponent into the air and often straight off the map. |
| Shield | A | The final stretch of a race and any moment you are surrounded by aggressive players. | Wraps your stumbler in a sphere that stops you being stumbled, though you can still be pushed around. |
| Banana | A | Chokepoints, ramp entrances and slowing anyone chasing you down a corridor. | Throws a peel onto the ground that stumbles whoever touches it for a few seconds. |
| Invisibility | B | Crossing a crowded start line or a bridge section where everyone is swinging. | Makes you invisible for a short window so opponents cannot line up a hit on you. |
| Block Throw | B | Players who want one offensive slot rather than two, freeing space for Shield and Invisibility. | Produces a block you can either throw at an opponent like a banana or use up close like a punch. |

Equipment Progression Path
The order you should acquire equipment as you progress:
- Starting gear → Enough to clear Block Dash
- Shield → Your first real upgrade, available early
- Banana → Mid-game upgrade with good scaling
- Punch → Best-in-slot, aim for this by late game
- Upgrade to max → The power spike from max upgrades is enormous
Equipment Tips
- Always upgrade your primary equipment before diversifying. One strong option beats three mediocre ones.
- Match your equipment to your build's stat priorities for maximum scaling.
- Qualification is the only thing that counts on race maps. Finishing first and finishing eleventh both send you to the next round, so taking a safe line beats gambling on a shortcut you have not practised.
- Check our tier list for how equipment rankings affect overall build effectiveness.
