Tale of Immortal is a Chinese cultivation sandbox drawn from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, and it sold millions of copies in early access before most Western players had heard of it. You start as a nobody in Yukong Village at the Qi Refining stage and climb ten cultivation realms toward Transcendent. The world runs without you: NPCs age, found sects, marry, break through and die whether or not you ever meet them.

Yukong Village Bosses

The first bosses teach core combat mechanics. Focus on learning patterns rather than dealing damage. Ten realms run from Qi Refining through Foundation, Qi Condensation, Golden Core, Origin Spirit, Nascent Soul, Soul Formation, Enlightenment, Reborn and Transcendent, each split into early, middle and late stages.
